The best robotic mop and vacuum Robot Vacuum That Mops
Noah Pinsonnault works as a product analyst for Good Housekeeping's Home Care and Cleaning Lab.
He evaluates and tests cleaning equipment, with a focus on robot vacuums that mop vacuums and mopping combos. Multitaskers are a great option for those looking to eliminate mopping from their to-do lists. Some of them have excellent navigation and obstacle avoidance. Some wash and refill mopping pads for a hands-free cleaning.
The Eufy S1 Pro
If you're looking for a robot vacuums best vacuum that also mop, this is the model to look for. It's smaller than other models, making it easier to maneuver in tight spaces or under furniture. It has a 220-degree lidar which, when paired with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it some of the best navigation and object avoidance that I've ever seen in a robot autonomous vacuum. It packs a powerful 4600mAh battery that can last for up to 170-minutes when mopping and suction are set to standard mode (it can last longer in turbo). It will even return to the dock to replenish its battery part way through a clean.
It's extremely quick and does a great job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It can vacuum carpeted rooms fast, and hardwood floors in the living room, kitchen and hallways with only one motion. The suction motor's 8,000pa will quickly pick up sand, dirt and pet hair. Carpet detection increases power automatically when it encounters rugs and the dual side brushes help draw out debris from corners.
The mopping efficiency is less impressive, though not by much. The mop rotates at a high speed and is pushed down with 2.2lbs of force, easily cleaning up dirt and stains. I've also noticed that the front arms stick out slightly more than other robots, which is useful to get into tight corners and along baseboards. Those same front arms can be used to sweep larger pieces of debris, such as broken toys and books.
Another good thing is that the S1 Pro is one of the quietest robot vacuums and mops I've ever tried. It doesn't create the same volume of sound while vacuuming or mopping and is quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The only drawback is that the S1 Pro must use a proprietary cleaning solution for its mopping function and is separate from the vacuum. It's easy to install and is effective however it's something you'll have to keep an eye on in case you're purchasing this vacuum for the sole purpose of mopping.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo stands apart from most robot vacuums that mops in its class. It is equipped with a broad array of features that make it an ideal choice for homeowners looking to purchase an extremely efficient, flexible and adaptable cleaning machine.
The device is equipped with an extremely powerful and impressive cleaning system that combines LiDAR sensors and an RGB camera to map your home and identify furniture and other obstacles. This information can be used to clean intelligently and effectively. This leads to an effective, consistent cleaning that's also fairly quick.
In terms of mopping, the Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads can reach an array of surface areas. This includes baseboards, corners and other difficult to reach spots. The side brush can be stretched to reach the floor close to the walls or other fixtures. Additionally the mop pads can be dried and washed to avoid build-up and lessen the odors.
App-based customization is a different interesting feature. The Q Revo lets you alter the suction intensity and choose an back-and-forth or random pattern. You can also set the number of passes it should make, which will determine how fast the device will move through your home. You can even choose to turn off the side brush to avoid damaging carpets and rugs.
It's expensive, but it comes with a lot of smart features. It is important to remember, however, that the device will incur recurring expenses in the form mopping supplies as well as regular maintenance. For instance brushrolls need to be replaced every six to 12 months or after 300 hours. The filter is recommended to be cleaned after 150 hours, and mop pads must be changed every one to three month.
This robotic vacuum cleaner has an excellent rating on Amazon and includes a broad variety of physical automation features. It has a power button that doubles as a general 'Clean' button and a 'Home' button that will send it back to its base station after finishing its cleaning session. It also comes with a multifunctional dock which automatically empty the trash bin, fills up its water tank, and cleans and dry its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
If you're a busy professional or just want an organized home that doesn't require hours doing chores, the Shark Matrix Plus is a good choice. Its powerful performance, intelligent navigation, and long battery life allow you to maintain a clean house with little effort.
The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop which means it is able to handle both vacuuming and mopping. The robot is divided into two modules that include a dry bin as well as a water tank that can be snapped out and in and a mopping unit that is equipped with microfiber pads. It's a bit old-fashioned to have separate modules for vacuuming and mopping but it does mean that you don't need to worry about changing out disposable bags or refilling the tank with water.
The Matrix Plus performed well at both vacuuming as well as mopping. Its greatest feature is its accurate floorplan map, which it employs when cleaning. It was easy for the Matrix Plus to navigate around furniture, rugs and other obstacles. The app lets you create 'No-Go Zones' and virtual barriers to prevent certain areas from being cleaned by a mop.
We also noticed that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well at picking up hair from pets. It was able to collect a lot of the hair our cats shed, and even got into the corners and crevices of our stairs, where other robots have struggled. It was relatively quiet and had some lovely jingles to let you know when it was starting or finishing its work.
The biggest flaws were its simplistic app and the necessity to switch between the modules to switch between mopping and vacuuming. The app is not able to save multiple maps. This could be a problem if your home has a variety of floors. The Matrix Plus robot vacuums That mop is a ideal choice for people who are looking for a smart device that can vacuum and mop.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni is the most expensive robot vacuum that can be found in our review, however it has some distinctive features that make it worth taking into consideration. The X1 Omni's main draw is its massive dock which serves as the robot's charging base as well as housing for two 4 liter water tanks, a cleaning sink and an automatic 2.5-liter dust bin that automatically eliminates.
The base also has a number of buttons to control the system. These allow you to start a cleaning task and then recall the robot or run the dock's auto-emptying process. Press two buttons to toggle the child lock. This is a nice feature for parents who are worried about their kids messing around with the vacuum.
The Omni Omni like other robotic vacuums, uses its camera to identify obstacles and furniture that are in its path. It will steer clear of them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system maps your home 10 times faster than conventional laser detection systems and is four times more accurate in finding objects.
Unfortunately this means that the X1 Omni will occasionally become so entangled with an obstruction, such as the power cord that is draped across a rug--that it becomes stuck and stops working until you remove it manually. This was a rare occurrence however, it was a bit frustrating because the X1 doesn't have a "stuck status" alert in its app.
Another potential downside is the X1 Omni's inability to automatically change between vacuuming and mopping modes during cleaning. You'll have to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't too bad however, the mopping pad doesn't get cleaned or dried between uses. This can cause mildew and mold.
The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame), who created its sleek modern, contemporary base and mopping pad. It's a significant contrast to the utilitarian, all-black bases that are used by rivals like Roborock and iRobot and is a refreshing sight in a space that is dominated by clunky boxy models.
