The best automatic vacuum and mop Robot Vacuum That Mops
Noah Pinsonnault works as a product analyst at Good Housekeeping's Home Care and Cleaning Lab.
He conducts tests and reviews of cleaning appliances. His main focus is mopping robots that vacuum and mop and vacuum combinations. These multitaskers are an excellent option for those looking to get mopping off their to-do list. Some have great navigation and obstacle avoidance. Some even wash and refill mopping pads themselves for a hands-free clean.
The Eufy S1 Pro
This is the model you should choose if you want an automatic vacuum cleaner that can also mop. It's smaller than other models on this list, which makes it easier to maneuver through tight corners and under furniture. It comes with a 220 degree Lidar that, when combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, provides some of my favorite navigation and avoidance capabilities I've seen in robot vacuums. It has a hefty 4600mAh battery that lasts for up to 170-minutes when mopping and suction are set to standard mode (it can last longer in turbo). It can even return to its dock to recharge its battery mid-clean.
It's extremely quick and does an excellent job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums the carpeted rooms extremely quickly and hardwood floors in the hallways, and living room in a single pass. Its 8,000pa motor is able to clean dirt as well as pet hair and even droppings with ease. Carpet detection increases power automatically when it encounters rugs and the dual side brushes help draw away debris from corners.
The mopping efficiency is less impressive, though not by a lot. The mop rotates quickly and utilizes 2.2lbs to remove dirt and stain. I've noticed that the front arm extends out a bit more than other robots. This is useful when getting into difficult corners or along baseboards. The front arms can be used to sweep larger pieces of debris, such as broken toys and fallen books.
Another great feature is that the S1 Pro is one of the most quiet robot vacuums and mops I've tried. It doesn't create as loud of a sound when mopping or vacuuming and is much quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The only downside is that the S1 Pro must use a proprietary cleaning solution for mopping, and is separate from the vacuum. It is simple to install, and it works well. However, if you are buying this robot vacuums that mop (Going to Funsilo) vacuum solely to mop, you will need to be aware of this.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo stands apart from most robot vacuums that mops in its class. It comes with a wide array of features that make it an ideal choice for homeowners who want a highly effective, versatile and ad-hoc cleaning machine.
The device is equipped with an efficient cleaning system that incorporates LiDAR sensor technology and an RGB camera. This allows it to map out the home, identify furniture and other obstacles. It can then use this information to clean efficiently and effectively. This will ensure a thorough and consistent clean, while also being relatively fast.
The Q Revo DuoRoller mop pad can reach many surfaces. This includes baseboards, corners and other hard to reach places. They also have a flexible side brush that can extend to the floor in close proximity to walls and other fixtures. The mop pads are also washable and dry to remove odors and prevent buildup.
App-based customization is a different interesting feature. The Q Revo allows you to adjust the suction level and select either a back-and-forth or a random pattern. You can also adjust the number of passes it will make, which will determine how quickly the device can traverse your home. You can also decide to disable the side brush to avoid damaging carpets and rugs.
It's expensive, however it has many useful features. It is important to keep in mind, however, that the device is subject to periodic costs in the form of mopping supplies as well as regular maintenance. For example brushrolls need to be replaced every six to twelve months or after 300 hours. The filter is recommended to be cleaned after 150 hours, and mop pads must be replaced every one to three month.
The robot vacuum mop is a top Amazon rating and comes with a wide range of physical automation features. These include an energy button that doubles as a general 'Clean button as well as a Home' button that will send it back to its base station after finishing its cleaning task. It also comes with a multifunctional dock that automatically emptys the trash bin, fills up its water tank, and wash and drys its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
The Shark Matrix Plus will be a good robot vacuum choice for busy professionals or anyone looking to keep their home neat without spending too much time on chores. Its powerful performance, smart navigation, and long battery life allow you to keep a clean home with minimal effort.
The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop which means it can handle mopping and vacuuming. The robot has two modules: a dry bin and water reservoir and a separate mopping unit with a microfiber pad that snaps into and out of position. Separate modules for vacuuming and mopping might seem a bit outdated however, they mean that you don't need to worry about changing disposable bags or refueling the water tank.
Our testers discovered that the Matrix Plus did a great job of vacuuming as well as mopping. Its greatest feature was its accurate map of your floorplan which it uses to create an outline for cleaning. It was easy for the Matrix Plus to navigate around furniture rug, furniture, and other obstacles. The app allows you to create 'No-Go Zones' and virtual barriers to stop certain areas from being cleaned by mopping.
The Matrix Plus also did a surprising job of collecting hair from pets. It was able to capture the majority of hair that our cats shed and even got into the nooks and crannys of our stairs, where other robots struggled. Its noise levels were fairly low, and there were some nice jingles to let you know that it was starting and working towards its goal.
The app was too basic and you had to switch the modules each time you switched between vacuuming and mops. The app isn't able to contain multiple maps, which could be a pain when you live in a house with multiple floors. The Matrix Plus robot is a great choice for those who are looking for a smart device that can mop and vacuum.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive in our review. It does however, have distinct features that make it worth considering. The X1 Omni is most well-known for its massive dock that serves as a charging base for the robot, a sink for cleaning and two water tanks that are 4 liters in size. It also houses two bins: a 2.5-liter dustbin and the 2.5 liter dust bin.
The base comes with several control buttons that let you manually begin a cleaning task, recall the robot vacuums best or use the dock's auto vacuum and mop-emptying procedure. Hold down two buttons to turn off a child lock, which is a nice option for parents concerned about their children playing with the vacuum.
The Omni Omni, like other robotic vacuums, uses its camera to identify obstacles and furniture that are in its path. It will steer clear of them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system will map your home 10 times faster than laser detection systems and is four times more accurate in recognizing objects.
Unfortunately, this means that the X1 Omni could sometimes get so entangled with an obstacle--such as the power cord that is draped across a rug--that it becomes stuck and ceases to function until you free it. While it was not common but it was a very frustrating experience when it did happen particularly since the X1 Omni does not have a "stuck" status alert in its app.
The X1 Omni isn't able to automatically switch from mopping to vacuuming mode during the cleaning process. You'll need to manually swap between the two modes, which isn't an issue apart from the fact that mopping pads aren't cleaned and dried between uses which could lead to mildew or mold.
The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who designed its sleek, modern base and mopping pad. It's a big difference from the utilitarian black bases of rivals such as Roborock or iRobot. And it's an impressive sight in the market that is dominated by boxy units.
