WoW Upgrades - The item upgrader kit Upgrader

Upgrades give you boosts in certain statistics. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by +3. Each upgrade also boosts a random substat.

The upgraded gear is usually more valuable, unless the item level upgrade is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a high variance in stats (like Eth Titan weapons). Upgrades are less valuable for those with lower requirements due to the requirement to roll a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by giving the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of armor or weapons. However, the item that is used to upgrade will remain in use for a long time and will not be able to be used again. Upgrades can be applied to the enchantments.

The upgrader is located in all major cities, and is accessible anytime to upgrade your equipment. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader at least once every few weeks, to keep your equipment up to date.

The cost of upgrades will vary based on the current level of the equipment being upgraded but they will always be less expensive than buying new equipment from other sources. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest up to ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. Buying a similar item will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade tools, armor, weapon and accessory upgrades. They can be bought by players through NPCs that sell upgrades to items in exchange for different currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased, it can be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor using the help of button, which will display a preview of the item at its next upgrade level if the player has sufficient materials.

The cost of upgrading is based on the item upgrader kit slot and the current level of the item level upgrade as well as the level of the weapon, which is more than gloves or bracers for instance. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones and a few crests, with some upgrades offering discounts to lower the cost of the Flightstones or crests that are used. Once an item level upgrade is upgraded to a certain amount it is able to be degraded and sold back to the upgrader for a lower amount of both currencies.

Item upgraders can be found in a variety of locations including the main island, as well as a few outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade discount and the chance to get a brand new upgrade recipe. The upgrade discount increases as more items are upgraded. It can be increased by having players finish certain achievements or quests.

In contrast to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II there is no upgrader for items available in the beginning of Icewind Dale. Instead, the NPCs that can be used to upgrade are acquired via a variety of means which is both an improvement and a drawback.

In Season 3, the upgrade system has been tweaked a bit, with several new features added. After a player has upgraded to a specific level for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same item level, will cost less. This is true regardless of whether the items are from an entirely different set of gear.

The discount applies to all accounts. Similarly, the amount of Harbinger Crests required to upgrade is also reduced and is not available until players achieve certain achievement milestones.

Crests

Players have a number of options for upgrading their equipment in WoW. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more specialized, and are used during specific item upgrades level upgrades. Crests are the main component of the Dragonflight gear progression system introduced in 10.1, and come in 4 ranks.

The first thing to remember is that crests are only able to be used to purchase equipment of a particular rank, and each rank has different requirements for upgrading. The simplest and simplest upgrade is 15 crests. The most complicated upgrade could require as much as 20 crests, based on the type of gear being upgraded.

Players can earn crests by finishing tasks at the appropriate level. This could be by doing outdoor activities, or by completing dungeons and raids in any difficulty to earn lower-level gear or Mythicbosses for raids, or dungeons with a heroic difficulty for endgame gear. These crests can then be exchanged at an upgrader NPC, such as Cuzolth in Dornogal or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to get the appropriate upgrade pathways and steps.

Utilizing these new currencies isn't too complicated however, the system will introduce a few changes to the overall upgrade process. For instance, when an item is at the highest level of upgrading for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it will no longer require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change is designed to allow players to get their equipment up to the highest level possible on all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.

Another important modification is that crests have one usage, so it's important to make use of them in a responsible manner. For instance, it's a good idea to utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests on the top gear you have available, and then save Drake and Wyrm crests for the next batch of upgrades you plan on making. This is particularly relevant for items like trinkets and rings that fill multiple slots. The discount on the account is only applicable when all slots on the character are filled with high-quality gear.
