The Best Robot Hoover

The best rated robot vacuum robot hoover can clean and mop without requiring your attention, and it will leave your floors clean. Its price is affordable and its high-end functions (such as a dirt detector) are positives.

Be sure to examine the brushes of your robot for hair tangled and large debris, and wash them when needed. Some models will also empty the onboard dust bin and place it in an additional bin at the base. This can reduce the amount of fine dust released into the air.

1. Roomba Q5 Pro

The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive sibling, the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums we have test. They are equipped with motors that are top-of-the line and can suction up to 5,500 Pascals. And, like other premium iRobot models (including the top-rated model) they utilize intelligent mapping technology to create precise floor plans and eliminate home-based obstacles like cords and furniture legs. They also feature carpet boost, a feature that boosts the robot's performance when it spots an abundance of dirt on the carpet in order to get it cleaned quickly.

The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored excellently in our tests on floors that were bare, and they are particularly adept in removing dog hair. There are some issues however, which prevent them from being our first option. One of the Q5's shortcomings is that its navigation system doesn't include AI-powered obstacle avoidance. It's also prone to get stuck on socks and shoes and couldn't navigate densely packed rooms very efficiently during our tests. It also doesn't have a camera to see around corners.

Still, it's very good, especially if you want to save money on a Roomba from iRobot, and you have a mostly bare-floor home or office. It's also quiet and can be used when you're at work or school. It doesn't have the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming that is offered in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective at mopping, relying on disposable wet wipes that don't stay on well and aren't able to deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 comes with a self-emptying cradle however. And, if you have to, you can switch the mopping pad to dry ones in just a few minutes.

2. IRobot Roomba X30

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive vacuuming and mopping capabilities into a sleek, compact package. Its quick navigation and smart cleaning maps make it easy to clean and efficient at dealing with larger particles such as pet hair. It also comes with a powerful suction and self-emptying bin. It's the best robot hoover for carpets, but it lags behind some competitors in deep cleaning.

This high-performance vacuum and mops utilizes sensors that help it avoid obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the layout of your home over time and provide better cleaning. You can modify its cleaning schedule and customize zones with the well-designed app. Its battery life is average in comparison to similar models.

If the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted space, you can tell it to pull back and extend its mop. This will help prevent cross-contamination. Its flex arm can also be used to reach beneath furniture with low levels and along baseboards. However, it doesn't have the same washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

During testing, X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop to complete the task of cleaning a whole home, with 66 per cent of its battery remaining. It also did a great job cleaning a range of floors and rooms with different flooring types, including certain area rugs. Its obstacle detection was great and it stayed clear of fake dog turds and socks, shoes and bundles cables.

It's a bit more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but it has superior suction and an onboard bin that automatically empty into the base. It also supports voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can even clean the floor after it vacuums it, something we haven't seen in other robot vacuum/mop combos.

3. IRobot Roomba X40

The robot vacuum and mop combination is sleek and has a circular design that looks much like a Roomba unit than the boxy models of the competitors. It is one of our most appealing looking robot vacuums. The latest flagship model from iRobot is also the most intelligent. It has advanced features, like enhanced dirt detection and future compatibility (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads autonomously).

It's the only robotic mop or vacuum to score a perfect 10 in our evaluations due to a mix of high-tech sensors that include a camera, structured light system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot we tested that can completely self-refill and empty its base station, and it has an industry-leading 12,000Pa suction and self-cleaning mop pads.

Like other iRobot models like the X40 is user-friendly, offering an intuitive mobile app interface and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit as well as Google Assistant. The only issue is that it's still quite an eerily noisy device that could be a problem if you run it in the morning prior to work or in the evening as you try to fall asleep.

It's also somewhat expensive, although it's not as pricey as the Ecovacs Omni or the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra, both of which are equally capable and more attractive. This is a two-in-one vacuum that's extremely powerful however it will cost you more and make more noise.

iRobot L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the best robot mop and vacuum. It has a number of advanced features that will make you forget about your chores. Similar to Ecovacs range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-free cleaning machine that takes the care of vacuuming and mopping, with a multifunction dock that automatically emptys the vacuum's dust bin, fills its water tank, and cleans and dry its mop pads.

The smart robot makes use of a combination of LIDAR and structured light to map out the floor plan and detect obstacles, making it more efficient than its top rivals. It also has a front-mounted camera for real-time detection of hazards but this was not 100% foolproof during our tests and was sometimes confused by power cords or other obstructions.

Its vacuum cleaner has the capacity to suction up to 7,000 Pascals which is more than sufficient to accomplish the task. It also has an attribute known as "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates the power of the vacuum and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for different areas of the house depending on how dirty these areas are.

For larger houses it's recommended to choose models with spot or zone cleaning modes that allow you to tell the robot to clean one particular area of your home by using the app or voice commands. If you have lots of furniture, a stairway mode is also a good option. Finally a recharge and resume feature that allows your robot vacuum cleaners best autonomous vacuum to pick up right where it left off is great for busy families.

iRobot RX3

The RX3 is a cleaner with more intelligence than you might think from its price. It has a great vacuuming performance, picking up 55% debris in our tests. (It was second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops using only one pad and a reciprocating movement that is more efficient than most of the robot mop cleaners that we've examined. It's also self-sufficient with a fully-featured app, and a self emptying base that can be washed.

The well-designed iRobot application guides you through a mapping exercise that collects information about your floorplan as well as any "no-go" areas you mark on the map. It can be used to design cleaning schedules or organize the spot-cleaning. You can also use it to prioritize the most soiled areas to improve performance. The app also provides access to a variety of features, such as seasonal suggestions, custom maps, and advanced settings for your cleaning.

It can also reach corners and under furniture better because its shape is more rectangular. It also has a strong suction of 8,000 Pascal suction and combs that are intelligent for hair of pets. You can also create a spot-cleaner which will thoroughly clean a specific area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a more sleek and less expensive alternative to iRobot Roomba. It's got a more attractive design, akin to Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are shaped like cute eyes. It is great at vacuuming, but it is more likely to get stuck on low thresholds. It is also noisier than other top robot vacuums that we have test. It also has an app that's less intuitive and a small base station that can't double as a bin to empty.
