The best automatic vacuum and mop Robot Hoover

The best robot hoover can clean and mop without requiring your attention, and it will leave your floors spotless. Its price is surprisingly low and features that are high-end (such as dirt detection) are pluses.

Check your robot's brushes regularly for tangled debris as well as hair. Clean them as needed. Some models can also automatically empty their onboard dust bin into a larger bin at the base, which reduces the amount of fine dust that is released into the air.

1. Roomba Q5 pro

The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive counterpart the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums we have tested. They feature motors that are top of the quality and can suction up to 5,500 Pascals. Like other premium iRobots (including the top model) they employ smart mapping to produce precise floor plans and eliminate household obstacles like furniture leg. They also come with a feature called carpet boost that increases the robot's power when it sees the presence of dirt on the carpet in order to get it cleaned up quickly.

The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored very well in our tests on floors that were bare and are especially adept in cleaning dog hair. However, they have some flaws that prevent them from being our top choice. One of the Q5's shortcomings is that its navigation system doesn't have AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's thus susceptible to get stuck on socks and shoes and couldn't navigate through rooms with a lot of people well in our tests. It doesn't also have a camera that can see around corners.

It's still a good value for those whose home or office has lots of unfinished floors and you're looking to save some money. Additionally, it's quiet and can work while you're at work or going to school. The only thing it's missing that you won't find in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on floors that aren't clean. It's also less effective at mopping, as it relies on disposable wet wipes that don't hold on well and aren't able to deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 does come with an auto vacuum and mop-emptying dock, however. If you want to change the mopping pad to dry ones in a matter of just a few seconds.

2. IRobot Roomba X30

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive vacuuming and mopping capabilities into an elegant, compact package. Its smart cleaning maps and fluid navigation make it simple to clean, and effective in dealing with larger particles such as pet hair. It also features a powerful suction and an automatic bin for emptying. It's the best robot hoover for carpets but it isn't as effective as some of its competitors in terms of deep cleaning.

This high-performance vacuum and mop uses sensors to stay clear of obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the patterns of your home over time to provide cleaner and more efficient cleaning. The app lets you customize zones and change the cleaning schedule. It has a battery life that is comparable to other models.

You can tell the X30 Ultra to remove its mops and extend them when it's in a carpeted area, which helps prevent cross-contamination. The flex arm can be used to reach beneath low-lying furnishings and along baseboards. It's not as effective on the washboard as our other Editors' Choice Picks, the Ecovacs Ozmo N8Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

During testing, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum that mops vacuum/mop to complete an entire home, and it did so with only 66 percent of its battery left. It did a decent cleaning job on different flooring and rooms with different kinds of flooring, including some area carpets. Its obstacle detection was great, and it avoided fake dog turds and socks, shoes and bundles cables.

It's a little more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but offers superior suction and an onboard bin that is automatically empty into the base. It also supports voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can clean the floor even after it vacuums. This is a feature that we haven't seen before on other robotic vacuum/mop combos.

3. iRobot Roomba X40

With an elegant circular design that appears like a regular Roomba than the competitors' boxes this robot vacuum and mop combo is among the most appealing looking in our evaluations. The latest model from iRobot is also the most intelligent. It has advanced features, like Enhanced Dirt Detection and future compatibility (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads in a self-cleaning manner).

It's the only robotic vacuum/mop to score 100% in our evaluations due to a mix of high-tech sensors that include cameras, a structured light system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation in a self-contained manner. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop mops.

The X40 is, like the other iRobot products, is simple to use. It has an intuitive mobile application interface, and it is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only issue is that it's still quite an eerily noisy device that could be an issue if you use it in the morning prior to work or at night as you try to sleep.

It's also quite expensive, but not as much as the Ecovacs S8 MaxV Ultra or Roborock S8 Omni, which are both equally powerful and more attractive. If you're willing to put up some more volume and some additional cost, this is a very capable two-in-one that should please almost everyone.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuums best vacuum and mop with a lot of advanced features that let you get rid of your chores. Like Ecovacs the range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-free cleaning machine that takes the care of mopping and vacuuming, with a multi-function dock that automatically empties the vacuum's dustbin, refills its water tank, and cleans and dry its mop pads.

The smart robot employs the combination of LIDAR and structured light to draw out floor plans and spot obstacles, making it more efficient than its more expensive competitors. It also comes with a front-mounted camera for real-time detection of hazards but this wasn't 100% reliable in our tests and could be confused with power cords or obstructions.

Its vacuum has a high suction capacity of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to finish the job. It also has an attribute called "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the power of the vacuum and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for different areas in the house depending on how dirty those areas tend to be.

For larger homes, it's worth opting for one with spot or zone cleaning modes that let you tell the robot to clean a particular area of your house using the app or voice commands. A stair mode can be beneficial if you have number of furniture. Additionally the recharge and resume feature that lets your robot vacuum continue where it left off is ideal for busy families.

iRobot RX3

The RX3 is a more efficient cleaner than you would expect from its price tag. It has a great vacuuming performance, picking up 55% debris in our tests. (It was second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops using one pad and a reciprocating motion that cleans better that most of the robot mop cleaners that we've examined. And it's highly self-sufficient with a fully-featured app as well as a self-emptying, washable base.

The iRobot application is designed to help you navigate the mapping process that collects data on your floorplan and any "no go" areas that you've marked on the map. You can use it to create cleaning schedules, plan a spot clean or to prioritize your most filthy rooms to ensure better performance. The app also provides access to a host of features like seasonal suggestions, custom maps and advanced settings for your cleaning.

Its shape is more rectangular than other robot vacuums, which means it can get to corners and under furniture more easily. It also has a powerful 8000 Pascal suction and intelligent combs for pet hair. It also has the ability to set up a spot cleaning that thoroughly cleans a particular area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a more sleek and more affordable alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It's more appealing, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras look like cute eyes. It's good robot vacuum at vacuuming, but it is more susceptible to be caught by low thresholds and is more noisy than the other top robot vacuums we've tried. It also has a less intuitive app and a tiny base station that can't be used as a bin for emptying.
