The Best Robot Hoover

The best robot hoover - you can look here, can vacuum and mop without needing your attention, and will leave your floors spotless. Its low cost and top-of-the-line features (such as dirt detection) are a plus.

Examine your robot vacuum cleaner best's brush regularly for tangled debris as well as hair. Wash them if needed. Some models can also self-empty the onboard dust bin and place it in an additional bin at the bottom. This can reduce the amount of fine dust that is released into the air.

1. Roomba Q5 Pro

The Q5 Pro and its sibling the more expensive Q7 Max Series, are among the most powerful robot vacuums we've tested. They are equipped with motors that are top of the line and can suction up to 5,500 Pascals. And, like other top iRobot models (including the top-rated model), they use smart mapping technology to create detailed floor plans that avoid home-based obstacles like cords and furniture legs. They also have carpet boost that increases the robot's power when it spots the presence of dirt on the carpet in order to get it cleaned quickly.

Both the Q5 and the Q7 Max Series get very good scores in our bare floor tests and are particularly effective in cleaning pet hair. However, they have some flaws that prevent them from being our top choice. One of the weaknesses of the Q5 is its navigation system doesn't include AI-powered obstacle avoidance. It's therefore prone to get stuck on socks and shoes, and it couldn't navigate densely packed rooms very well in our tests. It doesn't also come with a camera to look around corners.

It's still a good deal, especially if your office or home has lots of unfinished flooring and you're looking to save money. It's also very quiet and operates while you're at work or at school. It doesn't have the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming offered by the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective at mopping, as it relies on disposable wet wipes that don't hold on for long and don't take on dried-on debris. The Q5 does have a self-emptying dock, though. If you want to, you can switch the mopping pad to a dry one in seconds.

2. iRobot Roomba X30

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive mopping and vacuuming capabilities into a sleek, compact package. Its intelligent cleaning maps as well as nimble navigation make it easy to clean and effective in dealing with larger particles like pet hair. It also comes with an impressive suction system and a self-emptying bin. It's the most efficient robotic hoover for carpets, but it isn't as effective as some of its competitors when it comes to deep cleaning.

This high-performance vacuum and mops utilizes sensor technology that can keep away from obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the layout of your home over time to provide better cleaning. You can alter its cleaning schedule and set up zones through the well-designed app. It has a battery life that is similar to other models.

You can tell the X30 Ultra to remove its mop and extend them when it's in a room with carpet, which helps prevent cross-contamination. Its flex arm is also ideal for getting under furniture that is low and along baseboards. However, it doesn't have the same washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Professional+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

During testing, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop in the market to clean an entire home, and it did so with the battery at 66 percent left. It also did an excellent job cleaning a variety of floors and rooms with various flooring types, such as some area rugs. Its obstacle detection was top notch and it was nimbly avoiding fake dog turds, socks, shoes, and bundles of cables.

It's a bit more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but has superior suction and an onboard bin that is automatically empty into the base. It also supports voice commands through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can clean the floor even after it has vacuumed. This is something we haven't seen before on other robotic vacuum/mop combos.

3. IRobot Roomba X40

With a sleek circular design that looks like a regular Roomba rather than the boxes this mop and robot vacuum is one of the most attractive looking models in our evaluations. iRobot's latest flagship model also is among the most intelligent model, with features that are cutting-edge like Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads).

It's the only robotic vacuum/mop that scored 100% in our evaluations thanks to a blend of high-tech sensors, including a camera, structured light system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot we tested that can completely self-refill and empty its base station, and it has an the industry's highest suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop pads.

The X40, like other iRobot products, is simple to use. It comes with an intuitive mobile app interface that integrates with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only downside is that the X40 is still a loud unit. This could be a problem in mornings before work, or at night when you are trying to fall asleep.

It's also quite expensive, but not as much as the Ecovacs S8 MaxV Ultra or the Roborock S8 Omni, which are both equally capable and better looking. If you're willing to put up some more volume and some extra cost, this is a very powerful two-in-one that will delight most.

iRobot L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the best automatic vacuum cleaner robot vacuum and mop. It comes with a variety of advanced features that make you forget about your chores. Like Ecovacs the range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-free cleaning machine that takes charge of both mopping and vacuuming. It comes with a multifunction dock that automatically empty the vacuum's trash bin, refills its water tank, washes and dry the mop pads.

The smart robot makes use of a combination of LIDAR and structured light to create floor plans and identify obstacles, and navigates more effectively than its top competitors. It also comes with a front-mounted camera for real-time detection of hazards however this was not 100% reliable in our tests and could be confused with obstructions or power cords.

The vacuum cleaner has the capacity to suction up to 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to complete the task. It also has a feature called "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates the power of the vacuum and adjusts cleaning frequency for different areas in the house depending on how dirty the areas tend to be.

If you have a bigger home, you should consider selecting a model with a zones or spot cleaning modes. This allows you to tell the robot which area of your home needs to be cleaned by using the app or voice control. If you have lots of furniture, a stair-mode is also a good option. For families that are busy, a recharge feature and resume feature that allows your robot vacuum to pick up where it left off can be very beneficial.

5. iRobot Roomba RX3

The RX3 is more intelligent than its price would suggest. It's a pro at vacuuming, picking up 55% of debris in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops with one pad that has an oscillating motion that is cleaner than the other robot mop cleaners we've tested. It's also self-sufficient, with a fully-featured app as well as a self-emptying, washable base.

The iRobot app is designed to guide you through the mapping process, which gathers information on your floorplan, as well as any "no go" areas that you have marked on the map. It can be used to design cleaning schedules or to set up the spot-cleaning. You can also use it to prioritize the most soiled areas for greater efficiency. The app also grants access to many features like seasonal suggestions, custom maps, and advanced settings for your cleaning.

It is also able to reach corners and under furniture more easily because its shape is more rectangular. It also has a strong suction of 8,000 Pascal suction and combs with intelligent technology for pet hair. You can also set up a spot-clean that will thoroughly clean a specific area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a sleeker and more affordable alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It has a more attractive, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras appear like cute eyes. It does a good job vacuuming but is more prone to get caught on low thresholds and is a bit louder than the other top robot vacuums we've tested. It also comes with an app that's less intuitive and has a tiny base station that can't double as a bin to empty.
