9 Things Your Parents Teach You About Item Upgrader
World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
The upgrade of an item can be used to improve the stats of an item. Depending on the upgrade type, it may raise an item upgrader mod's Mark level or Rarity and boost additional stats.
Each item has a track to upgrade it. Each upgrade increases the cost of the next item by a specific amount.
Item Level
When an item gets upgraded, its base stats improve in value. The value is the sum of an item's leveled-up perks (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrades to items can be costly depending on the upgrader and what type of upgrade you choose to make. This is because of how many perks need to be replaced in order for the item to get upgraded.
The level of an item is a commonly used measure of power, and is visible on all item tooltips. It can also be used as a gating requirement when queueing for dungeons, scenarios, and raids, as well as to limit the amount of PvP gear a player can wear (since PvP is restricted to the lower levels). The average item level can be found in the character sheet.
Using the item level can help players compare the power of equipment when they decide to buy or sell. It's an indicator of the damage and its quality. Comparing items from the inventory of a seller can be done by using the level of the item.
The item level can be viewed by pressing the ALT key on your PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. This will display the complete item description, including its ilvl. You can also locate it by hovering over an item and typing /itemlevel into chat.
There are several theories about how the level of an item is calculated. One theory suggests that the item level is calculated using formulas that determine how valuable an item's stats really are. It takes into account the fact that different perks have different worth, and also that gems in sockets increase the item's overall value. This can result in an item's ilvl which is calculated and is typically very close to Blizzards actual level of the item.
However, this isn't the only factor that affects an item's ilvl, as the size of the area the item dropped in can alter the value of its stats, for example by adding a level to its crit rating or haste rating. This means that items dropped at higher levels will have more the ilvl than items from lower level instances.
Item Stats
Item stats can be the difference between a good or bad item for players. The game utilizes them in a variety of ways to encourage players to not restrict themselves to a particular weapon and to motivate them to try out other weapons. The stats of a base weapon are enhanced by the weapon's stat mods, which are themselves boosted by the player's level.
Item upgrades add to that by boosting certain stats on the item. The rarity of an item determines the upgrade item cost. For instance, a grey or white item can only be upgraded once, while an item with the rare tiers will be upgraded several times with higher prices.
Affixes can also be used to change an item upgrader's stats. They are stat boosts that can be added by the player to an item. The affixes can be used to give the item extra damage, or give a specific capability to the item (such as reviving the dead or decreasing cooldowns) or make the item unique by putting a special name to the item.
All affixes are re-rolled at the moment by selecting them in the upgrade window pressing the green button. This will cost a specific amount in gold and other items. These can be used as upgrade gauges, just like the other methods of rerolling.
In addition to Rerolling affixes and rerolls, players can select which of the available stats to be kept on an item after it is upgraded. The possible stat ranges for an item are based on the level of the item, but all items are guaranteed to have at least 1 stat within the range, unless it is a unique item or the result of a God roll from a boss of a raid.
Another thing that could be altered by introducing an option to upgrade the equipment without rerolling the affixes or choosing which stats to enhance. Similar to the base equipment, this would have to be done per item and the interface for item comparison would not display all the possible stats at once.
Item Luck
The Luck stat of a player boosts the probability of obtaining items, the properties that are created by loot and the strength of these properties. However, it doesn't directly impact damage or the ability to upgrade items. It gives the player a chance to acquire better equipment in earlier waves and is therefore more valuable in the early game than in later ones, as most players prioritize more powerful weapon scaling and defenses over the raw damage gain.
Luck can also boost the chance of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This is not to confuse with the Blacksmith's overall chances of upgrading that increase with each level of the item. They can also be increased with the use of anti-materials like the Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.
Weapons, armor, and shields can spawn or be crafted by using the Luck property, with the default value of 40. These items can then be enhanced by golden ingots, spined leather or oak boards (depending on the material of the item) to give +40 Luck or to increase the existing Luck of an item, up to 140.
Certain items, such as the Hollow-infused weapon, can also be equipped to increase the damage of any ability that causes damage by 5percent. These items can be purchased at the store, or they can be constructed using the right ingredients.
Item Failure
Not all upgrades work. However, there are some cash shop items that allow players to boost their success rate or prevent them from losing an item in the event that the upgrade is unsuccessful.
When you upgrade an item, the success rate is shown in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the probability of successfully upgrading the item and it can be increased by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. There are limits to how much success rates can be increased and the probability of an upgrade failing cannot be greater than 100%..
The luck of an item can also affect the effectiveness of an upgrade. All items have an initial success rate of 25%, and every item that has Luck increases that chance by an additional five percent.
The upgrade overlays of the item are rendered above the items in the inventory. This may obscure enchantment effects and other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
