One of them is that the Q5's navigation system does not feature AI-powered obstacle avoidance technology, so it's prone to getting hung up on socks and shoes and couldn't navigate tightly packed rooms very well in our tests. It also doesn't have a camera to see around corners.

It's still a good deal, especially if your home or office has a lot of unfinished flooring and you're looking to save money. Plus, it's very quiet and you can use it when you're at work or going to school. The only thing it's missing that you don't get in the pricier iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on bare floors. It's also less effective at mopping. The newest model from iRobot is among the most intelligent model, with features that are cutting-edge like Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can autonomously wash mop pads).

It's the only robot vacuum/mop that has a perfect 10 in our evaluations thanks to a blend of high-tech sensors that include cameras, a structured light system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot in our tests that is fully self-refill and empty its base station and it has an its own self-cleaning mop pads.

Like other iRobot models like the X40 is user-friendly, with an easy mobile app interface, and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, and Google Assistant. The only real drawback is that it's still quite a noisy unit that could be an issue if you use it in the morning prior to work or at night as you try to fall asleep.

It's also quite expensive, but it's not as pricey as Ecovacs X2 Omni or Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra Both of which are equally capable and look better. This is a dual-purpose vacuum that is very efficient however it's more expensive and produce more noise.
