The Best robot hoover and mop Hoover

The best robot hoover can vacuum and mop without needing your attention, and will leave your floors spotless. Its surprisingly affordable price and top-of-the-line features (such as dirt detection) are a plus.

Check your robot's brushes regularly for tangled debris as well as hair. Wash them when necessary. Some models will automatically empty their onboard dustbin into a larger bin at the base, which reduces the amount of fine dust released into the air.

1. Roomba Q5 Pro

The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive cousin the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums that we have test. They are equipped with top-of-the-line motors which can pull up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. Like other iRobots with premium features (including the most powerful model) they employ smart mapping to create detailed floorplans and avoid household obstacles such as cords and furniture leg. They also feature carpet boost, a feature that boosts the robot's performance when it spots the presence of dirt on the carpet, allowing it clean quickly.

Both the Q5 and the Q7 Max Series get very excellent scores in our bare floor tests, and they're particularly adept in removing pet hair. They do have some flaws however, which hinder them from being our first choice. One of them is that the Q5's navigation doesn't feature AI-powered obstacle avoidance technology which means it's susceptible to getting hung up on shoes and socks, and is unable to navigate rooms with a lot of people efficiently in our tests. It also doesn't have a camera that can see around corners.

It's still a good value particularly if your home or office has a lot of unfinished floors and you're looking to save some money. Plus, it's very quiet and you can use it when you're at work or going to school. It doesn't have the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming offered by the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective when it comes to mopping. It relies on disposable wet wipes that don't adhere very well and cannot handle dried-on debris. The Q5 is self-emptying cradle, however. If you're required to mop, the mopping pad can be changed for an awe-inspiring one in a matter of just a few seconds.

2. iRobot Roomba X30

The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact elegant vacuum cleaner that can also sweep floors. Its nimble navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it easy to clean and effective at tackling larger particles like pet hair. It also comes with an impressive suction system and self-emptying bin. It's the best robot hoover for carpets, though it lags behind some competitors in deep cleaning.

This top-performing mop and vacuum combo utilizes advanced sensors to avoid obstacles and pet waste and it learns your home's layout over time to provide more efficient cleaning. The app lets you set up zones and modify the cleaning schedule. Its battery life is average compared to other models.

You can tell the X30 Ultra to remove its mops and extend them when in a carpeted area, which helps prevent cross-contamination. Its flex arm is great for getting under furniture that is low and along baseboards. However, it doesn't have the same level of washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Pro+ as well as the iRobot Combo j9+.

During testing, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop that could complete an entire home, and it did so with 66 percent of its battery left. It did a decent cleaning job on different rooms and floors with various flooring types, including certain area rug. Its obstacle detection was excellent and it stayed clear of fake dog turds, socks, shoes and bundles cables.

It's more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but offers superior suction and an onboard bin that automatically empties into the base. It also supports voice commands through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It is able to clean floors even after it vacuums. This is a feature that we haven't seen in other robot vacuum/mop combination.

3. Roomba X40 from iRobot

With a sleek circular design that appears more like a normal Roomba rather than the boxy units, this robot vacuum and mop combo is among the most attractive designs in our reviews. iRobot’s latest flagship model is also among its most advanced. It has advanced features, like enhanced dirt detection and future compatibility (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads on its own).

It's the only robotic mop or vacuum that has an exemplary 10/10 in our tests due to a mix of high-tech sensors, which include cameras, a structured light system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation in a self-contained manner. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mops.

The X40 as with other iRobot products, is easy to use. It has an intuitive mobile application interface, and it integrates with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only issue is that the X40 is still a loud unit. This can be a problem in mornings before work, or in the evening when you are trying to fall asleep.

It's also quite expensive, though it's not as expensive as Ecovacs X2 Omni or the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra, both of which are equally powerful and look better. If you're willing with a bit more noise and some extra cost, this is a very powerful two-in-one that will please almost everyone.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the line robot mop and vacuum. It comes with a variety of advanced features that will help you forget your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaning machine like Ecovacs the top of the line X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It has a multifunction dock which automatically emptys the bin of the vacuum, refills the water tank, and washes and drys the mop pads.

The smart robot uses LIDAR and structured lighting to draw out floorplans and identify obstacles. It navigates more intelligently than its premium competitors. It also has a front-mounted camera for real-time hazard detection, although this wasn't quite foolproof in our testing and was sometimes confused by power cords or other obstructions.

Its vacuum cleaner has a maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than sufficient to do the job. It also has "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the amount of time the vacuum works and also alters the frequency of cleaning for different areas of your home depending on how dirty they tend to be.

For larger homes it's recommended to choose a model with spot or zone cleaning modes that let you tell the robot to clean one specific area of your home via the app or voice controls. A stairway mode is beneficial if you have large furniture. Finally the recharge and resume function that lets your robot vacuum pick up right where it left off is great for busy families.

iRobot RX3

The RX3 is a more efficient cleaner than you would think from its price. It does a stellar job cleaning, removing 55% of debris in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops using a single pad that uses an oscillating motion that is cleaner than the other robot vacuum cleaner best mop cleaners we've examined. It's also self-sufficient with a full-featured app and a self emptying base that is washable.

The well-designed iRobot application guides you through a mapping session that collects data about your floorplan as well as any "no-go" areas you mark on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules, or to set up an automatic vacuum cleaner and mop spot-clean. It can also be used to it to prioritize your dirtiest areas for greater efficiency. The app also gives access to many options, including seasonal suggestions, custom maps and advanced settings for your cleaning.

Its shape is more rectangular than most other robot vacuums, meaning it is able to reach corners and underneath furniture more easily. It is equipped with a powerful 8,000 Pascal suction as well as intelligent combs to remove pet hair. You can also set up a spot clean that thoroughly cleans a particular area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a sleeker and less expensive alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It has a more attractive design, similar to Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are designed like cute little eyes. It's good at vacuuming but is more prone to get caught on low thresholds and is a bit noisier than the other top robot vacuums we've tested. It also has an app that's not as intuitive and a small base station that doesn't double as a bin for emptying.
