15 Things You Don t Know About Best Robot Vacuum That Mops
The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops
Noah Pinsonnault works as a product analyst at Good Housekeeping's Home Care and Cleaning Lab.
He evaluates and tests cleaning appliances. His main focus is mopping robots and vacuum combinations. These multitaskers can be a great option for those who are looking to eliminate mopping from their list of tasks. Some of them have excellent mapping capabilities and obstacles avoidance. Others even wash and refill mopping pads themselves to ensure a hands-free clean.
The Eufy S1 Pro
This is the model you need to select if you're looking for an automatic vacuum cleaner that can also mop. It's smaller than the other models and makes it easier to maneuver in tight corners or under furniture. It uses a 220 degree lidar, which when combined with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it some of the best navigation and obstacle avoidance I've ever seen in a robot vacuum. It packs a powerful 4600mAh battery that can last for up to 170-minutes if mopping and suction are set to standard mode (it is able to run longer in turbo). It will even return to the dock to top up its battery midway through a clean.
It's extremely efficient and does an outstanding job cleaning my two-bedroom apartment. It vacuums carpeted areas extremely quickly, and hardwood floors in the kitchen, living room, and hallways in a single sweep. Its suction motor of 8,000pa is quick at picking up dirt, droppings and pet hair. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it detects carpets and the double side brush helps to remove debris from corners.
The mopping performance is less impressive, though not by a lot. The rotating mop spins at a high speed and is pushed down with 2.2lbs of force, easily cleaning up dirt and staining. I've noticed that the front arms stick out a bit more than other robots, which can be helpful for getting into tight corners and on baseboards. Those same front arms can also be used to clean larger pieces of debris, such as broken toys and fallen books.
Another nice feature is that the S1 Pro is one of the most quiet robot vacuums and mops I've ever used. It is quieter and doesn't make as much noise when mopping or vacuuming. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it has to use a proprietary mopping solution and is sold separately. It is simple to install and performs well. However, if you are buying this vacuum solely to mop, you will need to pay attention to this.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo stands apart from most robot vacuum with mop vacuums that mops in its class. It is equipped with a broad array of features that make it an ideal option for homeowners looking for an efficient, flexible and ad-hoc cleaning machine.
The device comes with an extremely powerful and impressive cleaning system that integrates LiDAR sensors and an RGB camera to map the house and detect furniture and other obstacles. It then uses this information to clean effectively and intelligently. This will ensure an efficient and consistent cleaning and is also rapid.
In terms of mopping, the Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads are capable of reaching many different surfaces. These include corners and baseboards as well as other hard-to-reach spots. They also come with a stretchy side brush that can extend to the floor in close proximity to walls and other fixtures. The mop pads are also washable and can be dried to reduce odors and prevent buildup.
Another feature worth mentioning is the customization options that are available through apps. The Q Revo allows you to adjust the suction intensity and choose either a back-and-forth or a random pattern. You can also select the number of passes which will determine how quickly it can move around your home. You can also turn off the side brush in order to prevent damage to carpets and rug.
It's expensive, but it comes with a lot of smart features. It's important to remember that it carries recurring costs in the form of mopping supplies and maintenance. For example the brushroll has to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to twelve months. The filter is recommended to be cleaned after 150 hours, and mop pads must be changed every one to three months.
This robotic vacuum cleaner has an excellent rating on Amazon and includes a broad array of physical automation features. This includes an energy button that doubles as a general 'Clean button as well as a Home button that will take it back to its base station once it has completed its cleaning session. It also comes with a multifunctional dock that automatically empty the dustbin, refills its water tank and washes and dry its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
The Shark Matrix Plus will be an ideal option for busy professionals or anyone who needs to keep their home neat without spending too much time on chores. Its powerful performance, intelligent navigation and long battery life allow you to keep a clean home with little effort.
The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot automatic vacuum and mop robot and mop which means it is able to handle mopping and vacuuming. It has two modules: a combined dry bin and reservoir of water, and a separate mopping module with a microfiber pad that snaps in and out of place. It's not the most modern thing to have separate modules for vacuuming and mopping however it does mean that you don't have to fret about changing the bags for disposables or refilling the tank of water.
The Matrix Plus performed well at both vacuuming and mopping. Its best feature was its precise floorplan that it uses to draw a route when cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate effortlessly through rugs, furniture and other obstacles. The app allows you to create 'No-Go Zones' and virtual barriers to prevent certain areas from being cleaned by a mop.
We also noticed that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well in removing hair of pets. It was able to capture many of the hair that sheds from our cats. It even made it into the nooks and crannies of our stairs where other robots had struggled. It was fairly quiet and had some lovely jingles to let you know when it was beginning or completing its task.
The app was too basic and you had to alter the modules each time you switched between vacuuming and mops. The app can't store multiple maps. This can be an issue if your home has multiple floors. The Matrix Plus is a good option for those looking for an intelligent robot vacuums with mop that is capable of mopping and vacuuming.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni is the most expensive robotic vacuum that is able to mop in our test, but it comes with some distinctive features that make it worth taking into consideration. The X1 Omni is most well-known for its massive dock that doubles as an charging base for the robot vacuum cleaner reviews, a cleaning sink and two water tanks of 4 liters. It also houses a 2.5-liter dustbin and a 2.5 liter dust bin.
The base comes with several control buttons that allow you to manually start a cleaning task, recall the robot vacuums that mop (click for info) or use the dock's auto-emptying procedure. Hold down two buttons to toggle a child lock, which is a nice feature for parents who are worried about their children playing with the vacuum.
Like other robotic vacuums, the X1 Omni utilizes its camera to identify furniture and obstacles in its path and eliminate them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system can map your home 10 times faster than conventional laser detection systems and is four times more precise at finding objects.
Unfortunately this means that the X1 Omni could sometimes get so entangled with obstacles, like an electrical cord dangling across a rug, that it gets stuck and ceases to function until you remove it manually. While this was rare however, it was a gruelling experience when it happened, especially since the X1 Omni does not come with a "stuck" status alert in its app.
Another issue that could be a problem is the X1 Omni's inability to automatically switch between mopping and vacuuming modes during a cleaning session. You'll need to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't too bad, except that the mopping pad doesn't get cleaned or dried between use. This could lead to mildew and mold.
On the bright side, the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot, thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who came up with its modern, sleek base and mopping pad. It's a big departure from the utilitarian all-black bases of rivals such as Roborock or iRobot. It's also an impressive sight in a market dominated by clunky boxy models.
