Upgrades can increase the value of armors, weapons and rings. They also increase bonuses, such as damage from PvE and crit chance.

If the template for upgrading a weapon is in %, the weapon will increase 3% of its previous attack damage each time it is upgraded.

The cost of upgrading an item increases as it reaches the item's current level. The cost increases as the item's level increases.

Components

Upgrade components are items that can be inserted into armor, weapons and trinkets in order to provide an additional stat boost or effect when they're used. They can be obtained by crafting, buying from vendors, trading or looting. Some upgrades can also be accompanied by specific cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can only be applied to devices that have slots. The item must be at least upgraded to a blue level before the component can be used. Upgrade components, unlike other mods can only be applied once. They are not able to be replaced or applied multiple times. Infusions and Enrichments are a type of upgrade component that is used to upgrade non-amulet legendary and Ascended equipment, as well in some items that aren't ascended. Infusions and enrichments can be retrieved by salvaging gear that is ascended or by completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade may include a suffix or prefix changing the name of the item to which it is used (for instancefor example 'Canthan Armor Insignia" becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Some upgrades boost an item's Mark Level or Rarity, allowing players to create stronger versions of that equipment using fewer Upgrade Crystals than is required to reach the same level of upgrade through normal methods.

A 'boost upgrade' can modify the attack or defense properties of a weapon, or armor. These upgrades can be crafted from the Portative Forging Station once the player completes the cutscene and defeats the Crazed Mechanic. They can also be dropped by enemies while upgrading other gear or by purchasing them from the cash store for 500 upgrade crystals each.

Each upgrade increases the likelihood that a higher-tier version of the item upgrade will be dropped at the next reset. This gives the player an incentive to keep upgrading their gear, even if they're unsure of how much they'll improve following a subsequent reset.

The process of upgrading an item could be costly and it is likely that the item will become obsolete or even break in the event that the upgrade fails. Upgrade Crystals and assist powders are also destroyed when an upgrade fails. Cash shop items can be used to decrease or eliminate the risk of failure. Certain upgrades also provide an additional bonus when reinserted.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to improve the Paragon Board by placing them in special sockets. Glyphs buff the effectiveness of all nodes in a radius around them and include pre-existing affixes to equipment. Glyphs are upgraded in many ways. We recommend upgrading them as fast as possible up to 15 levels.

It is commonplace to see in the final game that placing Glyphs is the Best item upgrader way to upgrade your gear. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded directly to level 15, and they provide a large boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to climb higher nodes faster.

Glyphs, the sole upgrade component which can be removed without restriction and replaced with no restrictions, are the most common. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and rebuilt with the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit.

The value of each Glyph is displayed when you select it from your inventory. You can replace it with a Glyph that is the same or higher rank to boost the value of the Glyph.

You can find Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of the Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain unlimited-use gathering tools, and through Faction Crypt raids. Each Faction Crypt has a chance to drop one of the numerous Glyphs and there are some rare Glyphs that can be found as drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.

Once you have gotten the desired Glyphs you'll require them to be put on your equipment. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus that will boost the stats of a specific set of nodes within a radius around the Glyph. It can be +40 for one of your primary stats, or +25 for two of your secondary stats depending on the Glyph.

Glyphs will boost all nodes connected to them, so it is best to put Glyphs in strategic spots on the Graph. This will maximize the impact. Leveling

The upgrade system for items allows players to improve the stats of certain items by placing upgraded components inside them. This is referred to as "upping". Every upgradeable item upgrader kit has an amount that determines its upgraded stats. Upgraded items can be upgraded to a maximum of ilvl 385. Each level of an item requires a different amount of components to be reached, and the upgrade costs increase as the item is leveled up.

Certain upgrades require a certain ingredient to activate. This ingredient is obtained from completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes are available in the upgrade tab of a crafting table, or bought from NPCs. Each completed Upgrade Recipe yields some Technology Points. These points can be used for the upgrading of an item. Once enough points are earned you will be able to claim your upgrade and get its extra bonuses.

When an item is upgraded by a player it is replaced by a new item of the same kind. The same armor will be upgraded to a weapon or a shield when upgraded. The new item also has its own set bonus. This could be a disadvantage, as the item can be more expensive even if you do not require it.

If the player has enough tokens they can roll item upgrades. This causes the item to be exchanged for a brand new one, with an initial level and a totally different set of bonus bonuses. This is a good idea however it should not be repeated often since it could waste resources.

Certain upgrades can boost their value and allow players to modify their equipment. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, since it grants buffs when the player continuously enters or exits water. It is possible to upgrade it several times, each time increasing the maximum roll by an increment of 10. This item is extremely useful in PvP. A properly rolled version could be worth as much as 50x the value of the unupgraded counterpart.

If an item isn't upgraded the experience bar in the bar for growth will be reset to zero. In addition the item will be deducted any bonuses it gained, including crit chance and attack damage, and all other effects that are associated with that effect (for instance, an increase in heal over time or reload speed). However, the player can continue to use the weapon or armor after the failure.

When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied in order from lowest to highest. This means that when a weapon gains an increase in crit chance, the increase is applied before any increase in attack damage. Slots is a brand-new attribute that was added to item definitions. The value is calculated each time an upgrade occurs.

The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item are based on its rarity rating and upgrade slot count. The cost of upgrading non-premium items is equal to the base value of the upgrade--for instance, a typical equipment item could have five upgrades at a cost of 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero grade items have lower costs per upgrade.

Premium items have different requirements for upgrading as compared to standard equipment, for instance, they may require fewer sowels, but they will require more minerals and erons.
