WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades provide a guaranteed boost to certain stats. Each upgrade boosts the item level by +3. A random extra substat is also boosted alongside every upgrade.

The more modernized gear generally has a more value in trade regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or very high stat variation (like eth titan weapons). The latter are less valuable from upgrading due to the necessity to roll for a perfect model.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by transferring the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be made on any kind of weapon or armor. However, the item that is used to upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and can't be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create the enchantments.

You can upgrade your equipment at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To keep your gear up-to-date it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every several weeks.

The cost of upgrading will vary based on the current item upgrader mod level of the item being upgraded but they will always be less expensive than purchasing new equipment from other sources. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 ilvl will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar item will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that are used to level up weapons tools, armor, and accessories. They are purchased by players through item upgrader NPCs in exchange for various currencies, and may also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be used on any weapon, tool, or armor. button, which will show an image of the item at the next upgrade level if the player has sufficient materials.

The cost of upgrades varies based on the slot of the item and the current level of the item, with weapons costing more than gloves or bracers, for instance. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones plus a set number of crests. Some upgrades give a discount on the Flightstones. After an item has been upgraded to a certain degree it can be re-downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower price.

Upgraders for items are available in many places, including the main island and some outposts. The NPCs provide an upgrade discount as well as a chance to acquire a new upgrade recipe. The discount on upgrades increases when more items are upgraded. It can be increased if players finish certain achievements or quests.

Contrary to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II there is no upgrader for items at the beginning of Icewind Dale. The NPCs who can facilitate upgrades are available only via a variety of ways. This is both a benefit as well as a disadvantage.

In Season 3, a number of new features were added to the upgrade system. Once a player obtains an upgrade to a particular level for an item upgrades in an armor slot, upgrading other items to that same Item Level Upgrade level will cost less even when they belong to a different gear set.

The amount of Valorstones needed for upgrades is reduced, and the discount is account-wide. Similarly, the amount of Harbinger Crests required for upgrades is also reduced and is not available until players have reached certain milestones in their achievement.

Crests

When it comes to upgrading equipment in WoW, players have a couple of options. Flightstones are an item that is available to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more specialized, and are used during specific item level upgrades. Crests are the main component of the Dragonflight gear progression system, which was introduced in 10.1, and come in 4 ranks.

First, you must be aware that Crests are only available to gear with a certain rank. Each rank has a different upgrade path. The simplest and easiest upgrade is 15 crests. The most complex upgrade can require up to 20 crests, depending on the kind of gear that is being upgraded.

Players can obtain crests by working through content that is of the appropriate level, which means walking around and doing outdoor activities for lower-tier gear, dungeons or raids of any difficulty for higher-tier items or Mythic+ dungeons or heroic raid bosses for endgame gear. The crests can then be exchanged with an upgrader for the item such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn, in Valdrakken for the appropriate upgrade steps and routes.

The new currency system isn't too difficult to use, but it will bring some changes to the upgrade process. Once a piece of gear has reached the highest level of upgrade item for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer) it no longer requires Flightstones. This change is designed to allow players to get their gear up to the highest level possible on all their characters rather than relying solely on seasonal loot.

It's also essential to use crests with care, since they have only one purpose. For instance it's best to use all of your Whelpling-rank crests on the best gear you have available and keep Drake and Wyrm crests for the next round of upgrades you plan on making. This is especially true for items such as rings and trinkets that occupy several slots. The discount on the account will only apply when all the slots on the character are filled with top-quality equipment.
