Upgrades can sometimes increase the performance of a piece and, sometimes, even add extras. The worth of these upgrades is determined by their tiers, requirements and the amount of random augmentations used.

The game will display the requirements when you select the upgrade component that goes into the item. This includes the type of item upgrading (either Armor or Weapon), the level of the item as well as the Upgrade Token required, as well as the amount of progress needed to complete the upgrade.
