The Roborock Q7 Max is a powerful robot that has smart mapping and app-based no-go zones. Its run time of 180 minutes is impressive. It also automatically refills and self-empties its water tank.
1. Roomba j7+ from iRobot
The Roomba J7+, IRobot's smartest robot to date, is the Roomba J7+. The most significant innovation is its camera-based obstacle-detection technology. This uses AI to recognize objects such as charging cables and shoes. It's the first robot to provide you with pictures of the objects that it encounters, so that you can instruct the robot to stay clear of it.
The Combo J7+ is the most efficient robot mop we've ever tested. It picks up dirt and spills quickly leaving no trace it was there. It's easy to control using the iRobot Home app which allows you to schedule cleaning times and set up Keep Out Zones so that it doesn't sweep areas you don't want it to. It's also compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant, so you can control it from start to stop using your voice.
The design is also more appealing than the competition. It features an elegant, top piece that looks like an toy, not a loud and obnoxious robot. Clean Base Automatic Dirt disposal System is also self Cleaning Vacuum cleaner-emptying which can cut down on cleaning time.
In our tests, we observed that the j7+ swiftly eliminated dirt, dust and pet hair. The counter-rotating rubber brushes held the debris in place rather than scattering it around the floor. It was able to collect small gravel, sand and even a bit of grit. Most robots could not accomplish this feat. And all of this without getting caught in our pet's hair shed.
While it's not quite as efficient as the $1,217 iRobot Roomba s9+ Self-Emptying Vacuum, which isn't able to clean stairs, the j7+ is still a solid option for those who require both mopping and a vacuum in their home. It's not expensive, and the iRobot app makes it very user-friendly to use.
The iRobot Home App is easy to use, however we found it less reliable than other robotic cleaner apps. It can take a while to download updates, and at times it's difficult to know whether the update is working until you've seen it in the action.
2. Roborock Q5+
If you're looking for a robotic vacuum cleaner that does more than simply clean your floors then a hybrid is the best choice. This category of bots typically includes a built-in water tank which means they can mop and vacuum your home simultaneously. They also have a number of additional features, such as smart mapping, small obstacles avoidance and even the ability to dry and wash mopping pads. The negative is that they tend to be expensive at retail, but on Black Friday and Cyber Monday they are often reduced in price.
Roborock is the manufacturer of some of our most loved robotic vacuums, and the Q5+ does not fail to impress. It's their cheapest auto-empty model. While it lacks some of the premium features that are found on more expensive models (like no-go zones and multi-story memory) it's a great choice if you're willing to sacrifice a bit to save some hundred dollars.
The Q5+ is extremely soft when it comes to obstacles like table legs and walls. This makes it a great choice for homes that have lots of furniture. It's also extremely thorough in cleaning up dust bunnies, which is a problem where many cheaper robot vacuums be a bit sloppy. The technology for navigation in the Q5+ is superb as well, with only a few missing in corners and along walls.
The Q5+, just like other Roborock products, can be controlled by a few buttons on the device or via the Roborock App. The app lets you begin and stop cleanings and schedules, as well as create virtual barriers and no-go zones, and modify your home map or change the labels of rooms.
If you choose to purchase the Q5+, it comes with a new auto-empty dock specifically designed to make the machine easy to maintain. Installing it requires a screwdriver but once it's installed, emptying the bin can be accomplished without difficulty. It has a large LCD screen which is helpful when setting up schedules and altering settings. This feature isn't required for the majority of people, however it can help you to keep track of the robot's maintenance schedules.
3. Narwal Freo X Ultra
The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a smart, well-rounded vacuum and mop. It's capable of vacuuming and mopping. Its design is among the top in the market, but it's expensive.
It is a relatively small base station that looks great and is able to be concealed when not in use. But the station's biggest selling feature is the way it automatizes various tasks and functions that other robots will leave to you. It can store clean and dirty water, electrolyzes and heats the water (which many other robots require you to do) also emptying the dustbin after vacuuming, and keeps your robot charged and clean.
Its vacuuming is also impressive. It's the few robovacs I've tested that does an excellent job of picking up debris on bare floors, and it's not nearly as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot 900 series.
The Freo X Ultra is not without flaws, especially when it comes navigation. Its LiDAR and laser sensors aren't as reliable as other robovacs. This means it can get stuck or confused in certain areas of the house cleaning robot. It's also not able to climb stairs as well as other models and isn't equipped with a dock to create a clean zone for carpets with plush padding.
The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is an excellent choice for those who need an automated vacuum that can do it all.
If you're looking to save some money or don't want to think about the limitations of this robot there are many other options on the market with a wide range of eufy models for substantially less. The eufy Qrevo curv, for instance, is cheaper, but offers more features, such as stairs and a fully-function Dock, that provides an improved overall experience when vacuuming on floors that are unfinished, low-pile carpets, and even high-pile ones.
4. Eufy RoboVac G30
eufy is an Anker company with an established track record of making robot vac vacuums that offer the perfect combination of features, performance, and price. The G30 Hybrid is no different, offering a capable cleaning on hard floors and mopping, carpets and other surfaces at a reasonable price. It's easy to setup simply by snapping one of the side brushes on, switch it on, and plug it into the charging dock. The app walks you through several steps to connect it to your Wi-Fi. After that, the G30 is ready to go. You'll need to leave the dock close to a power outlet and plenty of room to allow it to move around, however.
The G30 is tiny, 2.85 inches tall to be exact, which means it can be placed under couches and other furniture with a low clearance. Its design is a little less flashy than some of the rival models, with sleek black finish and three physical buttons that control Auto Cleaning, which can be paused or started. Recharge and Spot Clean (which scrubs an area in a spiral pattern for two minutes). You can also connect the G30 to Amazon Alexa or Google Home to use voice commands to do routine cleaning tasks that are not scheduled.
The way the G30 cleans is what differentiates it from its rivals. It makes use of a built-in map to create an image of the immovable objects it encounters while retaining what it's cleaned and where it can't access. When it needs to recharge, it automatically returns to its starting point and begins cleaning from where it began.
The eufy G30 has a few flaws. The iRobot Roomba 675 is more constructed, has lower recurring costs, is charged faster and offers similar battery life while offering better performance on bare floors and carpets with a low pile. It has a bigger dust bin that does not require the same amount of emptying. It also comes with boundary strips that keep it from certain areas. The G30 is cheaper and easier to maintain. Its smaller size means that it doesn't need to be empty as often and has less trouble with bulky materials such as cereal.
