Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade

The statistics of an item are improved by upgrading it, also known as "upping". Each upgrade increment results in an increase in linearity of any stat.

Players can recycle up to six items at a time in order to gain a level gauge for each of the item's upgraded components. The cost of recycling items increases with their rarity and item level.

Upgrade components

An upgrade for an item in Guild Wars 2 is a procedure that can improve the effectiveness of your weapons and armor. This can be accomplished through a variety of methods such as using upgrade components or by increasing an item's rarity or mark level. In addition there are many items that can be reforged, which can boost their stats even more.

Upgradeable items are available throughout the game, both in the world and as rewards for missions. Players can also craft them. Upgrade components are the primary method of upgrading equipment. These are the items that slot into equipment. Most equipment has slots for upgrading and some require a certain level of upgrade. Certain upgrade components offer specific bonuses, while other components offer an overall bonus.

There are several types of upgrade components available in the game, such as universal upgrades, inscriptions and jewels. Universal upgrades, like gems and enchantments, are able to be used in any kind of equipment and offer fewer bonuses than those that are type specific. Glyphs are only available in gathering tools and offer numerous bonuses, from increasing the speed of an item's gathering to providing additional crafting materials.

Choose the item from your inventory, then open the Upgrade window. The preview will appear on the right-hand side of the screen. It will display the expected stats after the upgrade. The Upgrade button at the bottom will be labeled as Blocked if you do not have enough of or.

The upper-right corner displays the number of upgrade components required for an item. The cost of upgrading increases with the level of upgrade and rarity, but can be reduced by various methods, such as buying upgrades at a merchant or trading them to other players.

Almost all weapons can be upgraded using an upgrade to a prefix like an insignia or rune, and many are upgraded by a suffix upgrade. These upgrades include an adjective in the name of the item for example "Radiant" or "Minor Vigor".

Glyphs

Glyphs are a way to convey visual information. They animate to capture the attention of the viewers and trigger curiosity in the brain. The animation of glyphs mimics the body language, making them more effective in transmitting an inter-linguistic message. Glyphs also create a sense of familiarity in the brain, increasing retention of the message.

Each glyph can increase the value of a stat by a certain range. This is shown on the item when you open it in the Glyph Storage. This is not the actual amount at which glyphs can improve the stat, but rather the maximum value by which it can do so. The actual value of the glyph is determined by the tier and the quality of the item you're enchanting it to.

The majority of upgrade components that are slotted into items cannot be repaired or replaced without removing the gear in question, unless it is legendary equipment and upgrades. If you have a glyph or rune you don't want to use but it's not been applied to gear yet, you can transfer the item to another piece by using the Upgrade Glyphs menu in the Glyphs Panel. This will create an entirely new Glyph Set with the selected glyph.

You can take out any glyph with the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or an Ascended Salvage tool. The item where the glyph is installed will be destroyed, but the upgraded item can be salvaged using the glyph shards.

If you take an item off after adding a glyph, the shards that are part of the glyph will disappear. You can also place an inscription on your equipment to make it more valuable. For instance the glyph Deferred Damage can store damage for the wearer and distribute it slowly instead of all at once. This is beneficial for players who take a lot damage from their enemies but don't want to be overwhelmed.

Reroll tokens

Reroll tokens permit players to alter the affixes on their weapons and equipment, and they can be obtained in a variety of ways like mistery boxes, as a rare drop from skulled creatures, or even from killing bosses. Each reroll provides the player with a random affix that is usually better than what they had prior to. Reroll tokens are also a good method to reroll the stats of a weapon and can be upgraded for better damage or other perks.

Items that have been rerolled may not appear in the item upgrade menu, however they are still eligible to receive upgrades. These rerolled items are able to be recycled by pressing the "upgrade" button, which changes the appearance of the window and allows up to six items to be selected to recycle. Recycling an item can add a small amount of points to its level gauge. This amount is determined by the rarity of the item and its own level, so items with higher levels are more valuable to recycle than lower-level ones.

Players can also make use of Reroll Tokens and Star Remnants to reroll Weapon Traits for upgraded units. Rerolls are based on a % chance for a weapon's trait. If it is higher, the weapon is upgraded. If it rolls lower, the weapon remains unchanged. Weapons can be upgraded up to 3 times.

Rerolls are a great option for upgrading an item, but users should be aware that it could reduce the total ilvl of the weapon due to the number of rerolls needed to raise the weapon to its ultimate ilvl. This effect is most noticeable on rings and Diadems, since they have no other options to increase the ilvl.

Players have complained that the reroll system is too expensive. It's more fair to allow people to pay for it using money or food items which will allow players to make changes to their builds without having to spend too much time. The developers have no plans to implement paid rerolls at this stage of the game's development. Instead, they're planning include a race change potion in the future.

Leveling

There are a variety of ways to level up an item upgrade. The first way to level up an upgrade for an item is to increase the upgrade amount. This boosts the value of an upgrade item for any stat. The alternative is to increase the effect of an upgrade, which boosts the damage or healing of the stat. Additionally there is the possibility to upgrade the base item to an upgrade type. After this, the new item will retain its iLevel however it will benefit from the upgrade effects of the upgraded item type.

When you upgrade items, More Material, it is essential to remember that upgrades aren't always planned. Most of the time the best roll will come from the glyphs, but there are also possibilities for more or unique rolls. The item type will also determine the iLevel. If you upgrade a rare or unique item to a unique item type, then it's likely to getting an additional level.

Upgrades to items can be costly especially when you're upgrading a piece of equipment from a standard to the legendary track. The cost of upgrading a piece of equipment will depend on the iLevel it's built upon and the number of levels to upgrade. In addition, some upgrade tracks require crests to achieve the next upgrade level.

If you're lucky the upgraded item will attain the highest level on its upgrade track, and thus unlock an additional benefit. This will provide a significant boost in the upgrade value of the item upgrading. The bonus effect can change with each upgrade level though. In general, the effect of upgrading is increased a value of +3.

The iLevel can also change according to the upgrade path and its base level. For instance, an item that is upgraded from being a rare or exclusive item to an extraordinary one will have the chance to gain the Enhanced Defence of the new base item.
