WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give you boost in specific stats. Each upgrade increases the item upgrader mod level by +3. Each upgrade also increases the random substatus.

Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless the Best item upgrader is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a high variance in stats (like Eth Titan weapons). Upgrades aren't as important for those with higher variance due to the need to roll an exact version.

Recycle Points

The upgrader for items allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher Item Level Upgrade level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of armor or weapon. However, the item upgrade that is used for the upgrade will be consumed forever and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be applied to Enchantments.

You can upgrade your equipment anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader every few weeks, to ensure that your equipment is up to date.

The cost of upgrading will vary based on the current item level of the gear being upgraded but they will always be less expensive than buying new equipment from other sources. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest to ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. If you purchase a similar item, it will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to improve the quality of weapons tools, armor, and accessories. They can be purchased through NPCs who sell upgrades to item owners in a variety of currencies. They are also available on random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased, it can be applied to any weapon or tool with an button, which displays an image of the item upgrader mod when it is upgraded when the player has enough materials.

Upgrade costs differ based on the slot for the item and the current level of the item. For instance, weapons will cost more than gloves, bracers, or bracers. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones and a number of crests, with some upgrades having a discount to reduce the cost of Flightstones or crests used. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain level it is able to be downgraded and sold to the upgrader for a lower price.

Many locations have upgraders for their items in addition to the main island and some outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade coupon and the possibility of obtaining an entirely new recipe. The discount for upgrades increases according to the number of items that are being upgraded, and can be boosted by requiring players to complete specific achievements or quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an upgrader for items at the start, unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. The NPCs who can facilitate upgrades are available only via a variety of ways. This is both a benefit as well as an issue.

In Season 3, a number of new features were added to the upgrade system. After an upgrade has been completed to a specific level for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same item level will cost less. This applies even if those items are from another set of equipment.

The discount applies to all accounts. In the same way, the amount of Harbinger Crests required to upgrade is also reduced and is not available until players have reached certain achievement milestones.

Crests

Players have a variety of options for upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are an item that is available to everyone who wants to upgrade. Crests are more special and are utilized during specific item level upgrades. Crests are an essential part of the Dragonflight gear progression system that was introduced in 10.1, and come in four ranks.

The first thing to remember is that crests are only available for gear with a certain rank. Each rank comes with a different upgrade path. The simplest and most straightforward upgrade route costs 15 crests while the more complex one can require as much as 20 crests based on the kind of gear that is being upgraded.

Players can earn crests through working through content that is of the appropriate level, which means walking around and doing outdoor activities to get lower-tier gear, dungeons or raids of all difficulties for higher-tier items or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses and dungeons for endgame gear. The crests can later be exchanged at an item upgrader mod upgrader NPC, like Cuzolth in Dornogal, or Vaskarn in Valdrakken, for the appropriate upgrade pathways and steps.

The new currency system isn't too difficult to use, but it will bring some changes to the upgrade process. Once a piece of gear attains the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it is no longer required to purchase Flightstones. This change lets players upgrade their gear to the highest level possible for all their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.

It's also important to use crests in a wise manner, as they are only used for one purpose. For instance, it's a good idea to use all of your Whelpling-rank crests on the top gear you have available and save Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you plan to make. This is particularly applicable to trinkets and rings that occupy multiple slots on the character that will be able to take advantage of the discount for all accounts when all slots are filled with high-quality gear.
