Path of Exile Item Upgrading

The ability to upgrade items allows players to upgrade their weapons and equipment with new affixes, increasing its base stats or providing additional benefits. To upgrade an item upgrader mod, a player has to have it in their inventory as well as access to the kiln.

Typically items that have weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a stronger base while objects with strong bases, such as eth titans do not vary significantly in their stats after being upgraded.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armors, trinkets, and gathering tools. They provide an attribute benefit, or extra effect, while the equipment is in use. They can be purchased from vendors, found in loot, thrown away by enemies, or obtained as a reward for missions or chests. Some upgrades additionally have special cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a certain level to upgrade.

To upgrade an armor, weapon or other item in the game, players will have to select it and then click the Upgrade button in the toolbar. The preview will appear on the right side of the screen, showing what the expected upgrade statistics will be and also the required component or material needed to make that happen.

There are three types of upgrade components: universal upgrades, prefix upgrades and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, which are made up of gems, are able to be used in any kind of equipment and offer less bonuses than upgrade components that are restricted to a specific type. Infusions are jewels that are only available in legendary and ascended equipment. They offer the same bonuses as jewels, but they cannot be used in other equipment. Suffix upgrades, which can be placed in gathering tools, will include their name at the end of the name of the item they are attached to, for instance adding an Glyph to a Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor will make it a Canthan Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor.

In the instance of upgrades for gathering tools, if a player replaces one glyph with a different one the previous glyph will be returned to the inventory. If you replace another upgrade component, it will be destroyed, with the exception for the inscriptions, which are able to be swapped.

Leveling

Path of Exile's upgrade process differs from previous versions in some fundamental ways. Gear is now broken down into tracks and items can be upgraded a set number of times before being "leveled out." The upgrade cost is increased with each level however the materials required aren't as high. This lets players focus their efforts on a handful of key items and maximize their impact instead of spreading upgrade costs across multiple pieces.

When an item upgrader is leveled out, it will be capable of receiving an upgrade set of components, as well as an increase in the likelihood that the upgrade will succeed. This bonus is known as the Artisan's Energy and it is reset to 0 after failure or increases if the upgrade is successful.

Once a piece of gear is upgraded to its highest level it is able to receive affixes that will enhance its capabilities. The amount of affixes available is determined by the item's kind. For example an uncommon or rare weapon with a base that is normal will only have two affixes to choose from, while legendary armors will have up to eight affixes for it.

Each upgrade process requires a certain number of Flightstones or Crests, depending on whether the Best item upgrader is at its current level and what slot it is placed in. Weapons will typically require more Flightstones than other equipment.

If an item does not get to its maximum level, the NPC will give the player the option to transfer it to another person and then re-infuse the item with an upgrade set that is different. This process takes up to two hours and costs the same amount of material, though it will result in a lower chance of success.

Engineers utilize a level to measure the height of the building with an established point, like an existing benchmark. This process is called a "level loop." This involves taking readings using the level, backsighting rod, and then turning the level to take the foresighting rod reading. This method ensures that structures are built to a high degree of precision and security.

Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of altering the upgrade item components of an item. It is a crucial part of the game and can improve an item's damage, strength or other characteristics. This can be done through the menu for items or by using the Reroll button on an upgraded Item Upgrader Kit. Rerolling items can be expensive and should be used sparingly.

The game allows players to recycle upgraded items, and use them to acquire Reroll tokens. These tokens can be used to upgrade the original item or a comparable item. Recyclable items have a gauge that shows the amount of upgrade. The amount of level that has been filled depends on the rarity and upgrade cost of the item.

In the past, some upgrade items were affixed with priority that made them easier to roll for than others. This meant that you'd receive the most crucial stats for your build more frequently than other items. This included stats like armor's total armour, thorns and control impaired duration reduced stats or the weapons' bonus attack speed and strike chance.

This has changed since the latest patch. Priority affixes have been removed and all upgrades will have the same chances of rolling for every stat. This can be either good or bad, based on what you want and need from your equipment.

Each upgraded item can have a unique, fixed-value bonus that increases its power by a certain percentage. These bonuses are added over the usual affixes. The more you upgrade an item, the better chances of obtaining the bonus of your choice.

The game also has a number sets that grant an extra bonus when three or four upgraded items from the set are placed on an item. This is a great method of giving the character more power without spending a lot of money.

Many players reroll their weapons and gear, especially in the early stages. Rerolling is a way to gain a stronger character quicker, which enables you to progress in the game and attain higher levels.

Sets

Sets are groups of elements that can be put together in a variety of ways. They could be of various sizes, contain no elements, or contain a single element. They can be used to organize data or separating information. They can also be used to analyze patterns. Sets can be classified in a variety of ways, including size and shape.

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom provides an extensive selection of set items that can be upgraded. Some items are worth upgrading, while others aren't. Upgrades are worthwhile for armor sets that offer high defense and set bonuses. Weapon upgrades are not as effective in improving stats as their counterparts in purple. This makes them less appealing to upgrade if your collection of weapons and armor pieces is already huge.

Some set items are upgraded to take advantage of their unique procs which can be useful in some builds. Guillaume's Face face and Aldur's Advance boots are a good example of this. Both were upgraded to Extraordinary Winged Helms and Exceptional Mirrored Boots, respectively. This increased their defense from 217 to 321. (Strength requirements and Level requirements also increased).

Another reason for upgrading certain items is to bring them up to the same level with their counterparts in their tiers. The Immortal King Set, for example, has a wide range of levels, from 29 to 75. Upgrades to lower-level items can enhance their defense, and improve their performance when it comes to damage.

To see if an item is worth upgrading, players can click the Upgrade button in the screen for their character. The item's attributes will be displayed together with any required items. To upgrade the No-mouth Face for instance, 1.1K Scrap Materials will be required, along with 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards. Players can also visit the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to check the upgrade requirements of specific items.

In general, weapons and armor are more valuable when they are fully updated. Particularly, for weapons that feature damage glyphs that are spell-like or weapon-related, upgrading them to gold is recommended as it will result in a significant increase in their performance. Weapons with an upgraded appearance will also benefit from this as its defense value will increase as it moves from purple to gold.
