WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades can give you boost in certain statistics. Each upgrade increases item level by 3. Each upgrade also boosts an unspecified substat.

Upgraded gear generally sees greater value for trade, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or very high stat variation (like Eth titan weapons). The latter are less valuable from upgrading due to the necessity to roll for a perfect model.

Recycle Points

The upgrader for items allows players to upgrade gear to a higher item level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied on any kind of weapon or armor. However, the item used to upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and will not be able to be used again. Upgrades can be used to create Enchantments.

The upgrader can be found in every major city, and can be accessed at any time to upgrade your equipment. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader at least once every few weeks to keep your equipment up-to-date.

Upgrades will cost more depending on the level of the item but they will always be less expensive than purchasing new gear. For example upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 ilvl will cost 20 recycle points, while purchasing the same item from a different player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to purchase weapon, armor, tool, and accessory upgrades. Players can purchase them through NPCs who sell upgrades to item upgrading owners for a variety of currencies. They can also find them in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be used on any tool, weapon, or armor. button, which displays an image of the item at the next upgrade level if the player has sufficient materials.

The cost of upgrades varies based on the slot of the item and current item level and the weapon's price is higher than gloves or bracers for instance. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones plus a set number of crests. Some upgrades offer discounts on Flightstones. Once an Item Level Upgrade has been upgraded to a certain degree it can be re-downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower price.

A lot of locations offer upgraders for items which include the main island and a few outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade discount and the chance to obtain a new upgrade recipe. The upgrade discount increases according to the number of items that are being upgraded. It is also possible to be increased by having players complete some specific achievements or complete quests.

Contrary to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II is no upgrader for items at the start of Icewind Dale. Instead the NPCs that are available to help with upgrades are acquired via several methods that are both an improvement and a drawback.

In Season 3, the upgrade system has been tweaked a bit, with several new features added. Once a player obtains an upgrade to a certain item upgrader mod level for a particular armor slot, upgrading additional items to that level will cost less, even when they belong to a different gear set.

The discount is available to all accounts. In the same way, the amount of Harbinger Crests needed for upgrades is also reduced and is not available until players achieve certain milestones in their achievement.

Crests

Players have a variety of options for upgrading their equipment in WoW. Flightstones are an item that is available to everyone who wants to upgrade. Crests are more special and are utilized during specific item upgrader kit level upgrades. Crests are a key element of the Dragonflight gear progression system, which was introduced in 10.1 and are available in four ranks.

The first thing to be aware of is that crests can only be used on equipment that is of a particular rank, and each rank has its own requirements for upgrading. The easiest and most straightforward upgrade costs 15 crests. The most complex upgrade requires up to 20 crests, depending on the type or equipment being upgraded.

Players can earn crests by working through content that is of the appropriate level, which means walking around and doing outdoor activities for lower-tier gear, raids or dungeons of any difficulty for higher-tier items or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses and dungeons for gear that is used in the endgame. The crests can later be exchanged at an upgrader NPC, such as Cuzolth in Dornogal, or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to get the appropriate upgrade routes and steps.

Using these new currencies isn't too complicated however, the system will introduce a few changes to the overall upgrade process. For example, once an item reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it won't require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change is designed to allow players to upgrade their gear up to the highest possible ilvl on all their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.

Another significant modification is that crests have one purpose therefore it's essential to make use of them in a responsible manner. It is best to use your Whelpling-rank Crests on the highest-quality gear you can find and save Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next round of upgrades. This is particularly true for items like rings and trinkets that take up multiple slots on the character which can only be eligible to avail the account-wide discount if all slots are filled with top-quality gear.
