WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades can give you boosts in certain statistics. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by 3. A random substat is also added to each upgrade.

Upgraded gear generally sees greater value for trade regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or a very high stat variance (like the eth titan weapons). Upgrades are not as valuable for the latter because of the requirement to roll an exact version.

Recycle Points

The upgrader for items allows players to upgrade gear to a higher item level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of armor or weapon. However, the item that is used to upgrade will be consumed forever and can't be used again. Upgrades can be used to create Enchantments.

The upgrader is located in all major cities, and can be visited at any time to upgrade your gear. To keep your gear current it is recommended you visit the upgrader each few weeks.

Upgrades can cost more based on the level of the item but they will always be less expensive than purchasing new equipment. For instance upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 levels will cost 20 recycle points, while purchasing the same item from another player will costs 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are functional items which can be used to improve the quality of weapons tools, armor, and other accessories. Players can purchase them through NPCs who sell upgrades to item upgrade owners for various currencies. They can also find them in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be used on any tool, weapon or armor. button, which will show an image of the item at the next upgrade level when the player has enough materials.

The upgrade cost depends on the item slot and the current level of the item, with weapons costing more than gloves or bracers for instance. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones plus a set number of crests. Certain upgrades provide discounts on Flightstones. After an item has been upgraded to a certain level it can be re-downgraded and sold to the upgrader for a lower price.

Many locations have upgraders for their items in addition to the main island and some outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade coupon and a chance to obtain a new recipe. The discount for upgrades increases according to the number of items that are being upgraded. It can also be increased by having players complete specific achievements or complete quests.

In contrast to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II there is no Item Level Upgrade [Woodruff-Chaney-3.Mdwrite.Net] upgrader available in the beginning of Icewind Dale. Instead the NPCs that are available to facilitate upgrades are acquired via several methods that are both an improvement and a drawback.

In Season 3, many new features were added to the upgrade system. Once the player has upgraded to a specific level for an armor slot, upgrading other items to the same item level will cost less. This applies regardless of whether the items come from another set of equipment.

The amount of Valorstones needed for upgrades is reduced, and the discount is affixed to all accounts. Similarly, the amount of Harbinger Crests needed to upgrade is also reduced and is not available until players have reached certain milestones in their achievement.

Crests

When upgrading equipment in WoW players have a couple of options. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more special and are used for specific item level upgrades. Crests are an essential part of the Dragonflight gear progression system that was introduced in 10.1, and come in four ranks.

The first thing to remember is that crests are only available for equipment of a certain rank. Each rank has an upgrade path that is different. The simplest and most straightforward upgrade route costs 15 crests while the more complex one requires as many as 20 crests, based on the kind of gear being upgraded.

Players can earn crests by completing tasks at the appropriate level. This could be by doing outdoor activities or taking on dungeons and raids of all difficulties to get equipment of lower tier or Mythicbosses of raids or dungeons with a heroic difficulty for gear in the endgame. The crests can then be exchanged with an upgrader, such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn, in Valdrakken to upgrade the item in the proper steps and pathways.

The use of these currencies isn't too complicated however, the system introduces some changes to the overall upgrade process. Once a piece of gear has reached the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer) it will no longer require Flightstones. This change is intended to allow players to get their gear up to the highest ilvl possible on all their characters, rather than relying solely on seasonal loot.

It's also important to use crests in a wise manner, as they only have one use. For instance, it's best to use all of your Whelpling-rank crests with the Best item upgrader equipment available and then keep Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you plan on making. This is especially relevant for trinkets and rings that occupy multiple slots on the character which will only be able to avail the account-wide discount if all of the slots are full of high-quality gear.
