World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Upgrades to an item are a way to increase the stats of an item. Based on the type of upgrade it can raise an item's Mark level or Rarity and boost additional stats.

Each item comes with a track for upgrading it. Each upgrade increases the cost of the next item by a specific amount.

Item Level

The value of an item's basic stats increases when it is upgraded. The value is the sum of all of an item's leveled-up perks (attack magic attack and defense). The cost of upgrading items can be high, depending on the upgrader and what kind of upgrade you decide to make. This is due to the number of perks that have to be changed in order to upgrade an item.

It is also used as a gating requirement when queueing for raids, dungeons and scenarios. It can also be used as a gating requirement when waiting for dungeons, scenarios and raids, and to limit the amount of PvP gear that a player can wear (since PvP is restricted to a lower level). The average level of an item can be found in the character sheet.

When deciding whether to buy or sell equipment players can evaluate the levels of the Best item upgrade. It's a useful indicator of the quality of an item and how much damage it's capable of causing. The level of the item can be used to evaluate items when examining the inventory of a seller.

On PC, you can see the level of the item by pressing ALT or by using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. This will display the full description of the item, as well as its level. It is also accessible by hovering an item with the mouse cursor, and then typing /itemlevel into chat.

There are a variety of theories on how the item level is determined. One theory is that the level is a number that comes from a formula that calculates the value of an item's stats are worth. It is based on the fact that different benefits are valued differently and that gems in sockets increase the item upgrade's value. This process could result in a calculated amount for the item's ilvl, which is usually close to Blizzard's actual item level.

This isn't the only factor that influences the value of an item. The degree of the area in which the item was dropped may change its stats. For instance, it could add a level to the item's haste, or crit rating. Items that drop in higher-level instances will have a higher value.

Item Stats

Item stats can be the difference between a good or bad item for players. The game makes use of them in various ways to encourage players not to restrict themselves to a particular weapon and to motivate players to explore other weapons. The stat mods on a weapon boost the base stats. These stat mods are then boosted by the player's level.

Upgrades to the item add by increasing certain stats of the item. The cost of upgrades is determined by the rarity of the item. A grey or white item, for example, will only be upgraded once however, items with rare tiers may be upgraded several times at higher costs.

Another method of altering the stats on an item is to use affixes. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player and are available in all sizes and shapes. The affixes can be used to give the item extra damage, or add a unique ability to the item (such as reviving the dead or cutting down the cooldowns) or make the item unique by adding an exclusive name to the item.

All affixes are currently re-rolled by selecting them in the upgrade menu and pressing the green button. This procedure will cost the player a certain amount of gold as well as items, which can be added to the upgrade gauge in the same way as the other rerolling options.

In addition to Rerolling affixes and rerolls, players can select which of the available stats they want to keep on an item when it is upgraded. The stat ranges are determined by the item's level. However every item will have at least one stat within the range, unless they are an item that is unique or the item is a God Roll from a raid boss.

Another thing that could be changed is the possibility to upgrade equipment without having to reroll the attachments, or pick which stats to increase. Similar to base equipment, it would have to be done per item, and the item comparison interface would not display all the possible stats at once.

Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player boosts the likelihood of locating items as well as the properties spawned by loot and the strength of these properties. However, it does not directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It gives the player an opportunity to get better gear earlier in the game. This is particularly useful in the early game, because players tend to put weapon scaling and defenses above raw damage gains.

In addition to influencing item discovery, Luck also increases the probability of success when upgrading items using the Blacksmith. This is not to confuse with the Blacksmith’s overall chance of upgrading that increase with each level of the item. They can also be increased with the use of anti-materials, such as the Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.

Weapons, armor, and shields can be made or spawn with the Luck property, which has an initial value of 40. These items can be enhanced with golden ingots, spined leather, or oak boards (depending on the type of material used) to grant a further +40 Luck, or to increase the existing Luck of the item up to 140.

Certain items, such as the weapon that is infused with hollow can also be crafted to increase the damage of any skill that causes damage by 5percent. These items are available at the store, or they can be made using the correct ingredients.

Item Failure

Upgrades to items can be a costly process and not all upgrades will be successful. However, there are some cash shop items that allow players to boost their success rate or prevent themselves from losing an item if the upgrade fails.

The success rate of an upgrade is shown in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the chance of successfully upgrading the item, and can be increased by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. There are limitations on how much success rates can be increased and the chance of an upgrade failing can't be greater than 100%..

The success of an item upgrades is also influenced by the luck of that item. Every item has an overall success rate of 25 percent, and each item with Luck increases this chance by 5%.

The upgrade overlays of the item are displayed above items in the inventory. This could block enchantment effects as well as other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
