WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boosts in specific statistics. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by 3. Each upgrade also boosts an unspecified substat.

The upgraded gear is usually more valuable, unless the item upgrader mod has a low requirement by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a high variance in stats (like the eth Titan weapons). The latter are less valuable from upgrading due to the need to roll to get a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by offering the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of armor or weapons. However, the item used for the upgrade will remain in use for a long time and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be applied to enchantments.

The upgrader is located in all major cities, and can be accessed at any time to upgrade your gear. It is recommended to visit the upgrader at least once every few weeks, to keep your equipment up-to-date.

The cost of upgrades will vary based on the current level of the equipment being upgraded, but will always be cheaper than buying new gear from other sources. For example upgrading a Benthic chest piece to 385 levels will cost 20 recycle points while buying a similar item from a different player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to purchase weapon, armor, tool and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased by players from item level upgrade (mouse click the up coming webpage) upgraders NPCs in a variety of currencies. They are also available on random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be used on any tool, weapon, or armor. The button will display the preview of an item's next upgrade level, if there are enough materials.

The upgrade cost depends on the slot of the item and the current level of the item as well as the level of the weapon, which is more than bracers or gloves, for instance. Each step costs 15 Flightstones plus a specific number of crests. Some upgrades offer a discount on the Flightstones. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain level it is able to be degraded and sold back to the upgrader for a lesser amount of both currencies.

Upgraders for items can be found in many places on the main island, as well as a few outposts. The NPCs provide an upgrade discount and a chance to acquire a new upgrade recipe. The upgrade discount increases as more items are upgraded. It can be increased by having players complete certain achievements or quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrader at the beginning, unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. The NPCs who can facilitate upgrades are only available through a variety of methods. This is both a benefit and a drawback.

In Season 3, the upgrade system has been altered a bit, with numerous new features added. Once a player obtains an upgrade to a specific level for an item in an armor slot, upgrading additional items to that same item level will be less expensive, even in the event that they belong to an entirely different set of gear.

The amount of Valorstones needed for upgrades is reduced, and the discount is account-wide. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed for upgrades is reduced too, but it is only available once certain milestones have been reached.

Crests

When upgrading equipment in WoW, players have a couple of choices. Flightstones are a currency that is available to all players for upgrading. Crests are more special, and are used during specific item level upgrades. Crests are a key element of the Dragonflight gear progression system introduced in 10.1, and come in four ranks.

The first thing to remember is that the crests can only be purchased for gear that is of a particular rank. Each rank comes with an upgrade path that is different. The most basic and straightforward upgrade path costs 15 crests, while the most complex can require as much as 20 crests, based on the type of gear being upgraded.

Players can obtain crests by finishing content at the appropriate level, which involves walking around and performing outdoor activities for lower-tier gear, dungeons or raids of any difficulty for higher-tier items or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses or dungeons for endgame gear. The crests can later be exchanged at an item upgrader NPC like Cuzolth in Dornogal, or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to get the appropriate upgrade routes and steps.

Using these new currencies isn't that difficult, but the system introduces some modifications to the upgrade process. When a piece attains the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer) it no longer requires Flightstones. This change is designed to allow players to get their equipment up to the highest level possible on all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.

It's also crucial to choose crests wisely, as they only have one use. For instance, it's best to make use of all your Whelpling-rank crests with the best equipment you have and then save Drake and Wyrm crests for the next batch of upgrades you plan to create. This is particularly applicable to items like trinkets and rings that fill multiple slots. The discount for the entire account will only be applicable if all slots on the character are filled with top-quality equipment.
