Upgrades can boost the power of a piece of equipment and, sometimes, even add extras. The value of these upgrades is determined by the levels of gear, their requirements and how many random augmentations are applied.

For example, the elite shield for racial discrimination Razortail is often upgraded to enhance its lightning absorb capability in PvP, or to add additional defenses on missile based builds in PvM. This makes it more tradeable than the non-upgraded perfect version.

Reroll Tokens

Reroll tokens are a way to reroll an item you have acquired like an armor, weapon or rings. The item is replaced by another item upgrading of the same type however with different bonuses. Reroll tokens can be a cost-effective option to upgrade equipment. They don't maintain the original item's level and any wasted resources aren't rewarded.

The survivors can acquire reroll tokens through several means such as the Mistery Box or as rare drops from skulled creatures. They are also available in crates and chests, or buy them from the stores for $150 each.
