The newest model from iRobot is its most advanced, with advanced features including enhanced dirt detection technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's best rated robot vacuum that is able to wash mop pads).
It's also the sole robot vacuum/mop that scored an absolute 10 out of 10 in our tests. This is due to a combination high-tech sensors including a structured light system, a camera and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot in our tests that can fully autonomously refill and empty its base station and boasts an its own self-cleaning mop pads.
The X40 is, like the other iRobot products, is simple to operate. It has an easy mobile app interface that integrates with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only drawback is that the X40 is still a noisy unit. This could be a concern in the mornings before work, or during the night when you are trying to fall asleep.
It's also somewhat expensive, though it's not as expensive as the Ecovacs Omni or the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra, both of which are equally powerful and look better. If you're willing to put up with a little more noise and a little more cost it's a capable two-in-one that should please almost everyone.
4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra
