The Advanced Guide To Item Upgrade
WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades will give you a boost to specific stats. Each upgrade increases item level by +3. A random substat is also added to each upgrade.
The upgraded gear is usually more valuable, unless it is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or a high stat variance (like eth Titan weapons). The latter are less valuable from upgrading due to the necessity to roll for a perfect model.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by giving the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of armor or weapon. However, the item that is used for the upgrade will be consumed forever and can't be used again. Upgrades can be used to create enchantments.
The upgrader is located in all major cities and can be visited anytime to upgrade your equipment. To ensure that your equipment is up-to-date it is recommended you visit the upgrader each several weeks.
The cost of upgrading will be based on the current item level upgrade level of the gear being upgraded, but will always be cheaper than purchasing new gear from other sources. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest to the level of ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. If you purchase a similar item, it will cost you 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items that are used to level up weapons tools, armor, and accessories. They can be bought by players from NPCs who sell upgrades for items in exchange for a variety of currencies, and may also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor. button, which will display a preview of the item at the next upgrade level if the player has sufficient materials.
Upgrade costs vary depending on the item slot, and the current level of the item. For example weapons cost more than gloves, bracers or bracers. Each upgrade items cost 15 Flightstones and a variety of crests, with some upgrades having a discount to lower the cost of the Flightstones or the crests used. After an item has been upgraded to a certain amount it is able to be degraded and returned to the upgrader for a lesser amount of the two currencies.
Many locations offer item upgraders, including the main Island and some outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade coupon and the possibility of getting a new recipe. The discount on upgrades increases when more items are upgraded. It can be increased by having players complete certain achievements or quests.
Contrary to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II there is no upgrader for items available in the beginning of Icewind Dale. Instead, the NPCs that are available to facilitate upgrades must be acquired through several methods that are both an improvement but also a drawback.
In Season 3 the upgrade system has been modified a bit, and some new features added. Once the player has upgraded to a certain level of item upgrade for an armor slot, upgrading other items to the same level will cost less. This is even if the items are from a different set of equipment.
The discount is applicable to all accounts. In the same way, the amount of Harbinger Crests needed for upgrades is also reduced and is not available until players achieve certain achievement milestones.
Crests
Players have a variety of options when it comes to upgrading their equipment in WoW. Flightstones are a currency that is available to all players for upgrading. Crests are more special and are utilized during specific item upgrader kit level upgrades. Crests are an integral element of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System that was introduced in version 10.1. They are available in four ranks.
The first thing to be aware of is that crests can only be spent on gear of a specific rank, and that each rank has different requirements for its upgrade path. The simplest and simplest upgrade route costs 15 crests while the most complicated can require as much as 20 crests depending on the type of equipment that is being upgraded.
Players can earn crests through finishing content at the appropriate level, whether that means walking around and doing outdoor activities for lower-tier gear, raids or dungeons with all difficulties for higher-tier items or Mythic+ dungeons or heroic raid bosses to obtain endgame gear. The crests can later be exchanged at an item upgrader NPC, like Cuzolth in Dornogal or Vaskarn in Valdrakken, for the appropriate upgrade pathways and steps.
The new currency system isn't complicated to use, but it will bring some changes to the upgrade process. For instance, when an item reaches the highest level of upgrading for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it won't require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change is intended to allow players to upgrade their gear up to the highest level possible for all their characters instead of relying only on seasonal loot.
It's also essential to use crests wisely, as they have only one purpose. For instance it's a good idea to use all of your Whelpling-rank crests on the best equipment available, and then keep Drake and Wyrm crests for the next round of upgrades you're planning on making. This is especially true for items such as trinkets and rings that take up several slots. The discount on the account will only apply when all slots on the character are filled with top-quality gear.
