Upgrades can boost the value of certain numeric stats on weapons, armor and rings. They also increase bonuses, such as crit chance and PvE damage.

For example, a weapon with the upgrade template that ends in % will gain 3% attack damage every time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).

The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases with item's level.

Components

Upgrade components are items that can be slotted into armor, weapons and trinkets in order to provide an extra stat boost or effect when they're used. These can be obtained by crafting, purchasing from vendors or trading with other players or looting. Some upgrades also have specific cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be placed in equipment with a slot for them; the item must be at least upgraded to the blue level to allow a component to be inserted. Unlike other mods, upgrade components can only be used once; they cannot be applied multiple times or replaced with upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a special type of upgrade component that is designed for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment and some of the back items that are not ascending. Enrichments and Infusions can be obtained by salvaging ascended equipment or completing a mission in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade could have a prefix or suffix that alters the name of the equipment with the upgrade (for instance "Canthan Armor Insignia' becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase an item's Mark Level, or Rarity, allowing players create stronger versions of the equipment using less Upgrade Crystals than are required to achieve the same level of upgrade through normal methods.

A 'boost' upgrade can change the attack or defense attributes of the weapon or armor. After the player has completed the cutscene and defeated the Crazed Mechanist the upgrades can be created at the Portative Forging Station. They can be dropped by enemies when upgrading other gear, or by purchasing them from the cash shop for 500 upgrade crystals per.

The player is able to have up to five boost upgrades at a time; each upgrade increases the likelihood that a higher-tier version of the item will drop during the next reset. This gives the player some incentive to continue upgrading their gear, even if they're unsure of how much they'll improve after a future reset.

The boost Upgrade Item (menwiki.men) may be successful or not, the process can be expensive, and there is a high possibility that the item will become obsolete or even break if it fails. A unsuccessful upgrade could ruin Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder, as well as the upgraded item. Cash shop items can be used to decrease or eliminate the risk of failure. Some upgrades also offer an additional bonus when they are reinserted.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to enhance the Paragon Board by placing them in special sockets. Glyphs boost the power of nodes within a radius, including any pre-existing affixes. Glyphs can be upgraded many ways, and we suggest upgrading them to 15 levels whenever you can.

You will often find in the final game that placing Glyphs is the most effective method to upgrade your equipment. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded directly to level 15, and they provide significant boosts to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to get higher nodes faster.

The majority of upgrades in the game can be replaced but Glyphs are the only upgrade component that can be removed and put back in place without restriction. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and rebuilt with a Black Lion Salvage Kit.

Each Glyph has a particular range of values can enhance a stat by, and the value is displayed when you select the Glyph in your inventory. You can replace it with an Glyph that is the same or higher rank to boost the value of the Glyph.

There are Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of the Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain unlimited-use gathering tools and also through Faction Crypt raids. Every Faction Crypt could drop one of these Glyphs. There are also some rare glyphs you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs then you need to place them on your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus that can boost the stats of a particular set of nodes in the vicinity of the Glyph. This will either be +40 for one of your primary stats, or +25 for two of your secondary stats, based on the Glyph.

The use of a Glyph will boost all the nodes that are connected to it, and it is recommended to position your Glyphs near the most important nodes of the Graph to maximise the impact. For example, a Druid should try to position their Glyphs near their primary damage nodes, but you should also consider placing them near critical damage nodes as well.

Leveling

The item upgrade system allows players to boost the effectiveness of certain items by introducing upgraded components. This is known as "upping". Each upgradeable item comes with a level that determines its upgraded stats. Upgraded items are able to be leveled up to a maximum level of 385 ilvl. Each level of an item requires different components, and upgrade costs increase with each level.

Certain upgrades require a specific ingredient to activate. This ingredient is obtained from the completion of Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or on the upgrade tab in the crafting table. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed yields a certain number of Technology points. These points can be used to level the item, and when enough points are earned, the upgrade will be claimed and its additional bonuses will be added to the Best item upgrader.

When the player improves an item the original item will be replaced by an item that is new. The same armor will receive a weapon or a shield when upgraded. The new item level upgrade also has its own set of bonuses. This could be a drawback because it can make the item more expensive if you do not require it.

Upgrades to items can be rerolled, provided that the player has enough tokens to be able to do so. This will cause the item to be traded for a new one, which will come with the level 1 base, and a completely different set of extra bonuses. This is a good idea however it should not be repeated often since it can waste resources.

Some upgrades can increase their value and allow players to personalize their gear. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it provides an increase in power if the player repeatedly enters or exits the water. Requirements

Upgrades to armor set pieces also boost the defense base of the piece, whereas upgrading weapon equipment will increase the damage base as well as the required strength and dexterity to match the requirements of the upgraded equipment.

Each item can be upgraded up to five times, with the exception of hero gear that can have eight upgrades. Every time you upgrade a piece of equipment, it is at risk of failing. The probability of failure increases as you go over the maximum number. Failures can result in the item returning to its original condition which means that the player has to purchase more items than if they stopped upgrading after the maximum number.

If an item is not upgraded the experience bar on the bar for growth will be reset to zero. In addition the item will be deducted any gained bonuses, including crit chance and attack damage, as well as all additional effects associated with that effect (for example, increased heal over time or speed of reload). The player can continue to use their weapon or armor even after the failure.

When an item level upgrade is upgraded the upgrades are applied from lowest to the highest. This means that, should a weapon gain an increase in the chance of crit the increase is applied before any increase in attack damage. A new attribute called Slots is now added to the definition of the item and the value is computed each time an upgrade is applied.

The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is determined on the rarity rating as well as the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium equipment is equal to its value.
