WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by 3. A random additional substat is also boosted alongside every upgrade.

The more modernized gear generally has a higher trade value, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or a very high stat variation (like Eth titan weapons). Upgrades aren't as valuable for those with higher variance because of the requirement to roll an exact version.

Recycle Points

The upgrader for items allows players to upgrade gear to a higher item level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of armor or weapon. The item used to upgrade the item upgrades will be consumed and can't be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create enchantments.

The upgrader can be found in all major cities, and can be visited at any time to upgrade your equipment. To keep your gear up-to-date, it is recommended that you visit the upgrader each couple of weeks.

Upgrades can cost more based on the item level, but they will always be cheaper than buying new equipment. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest up to 385 ilvl will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar item will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are useful items that are used to level up weapons and tools, armor and other items. Players can purchase them through NPCs who sell upgrades to Best item upgrade owners for a variety of currencies. They can also find them in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased, it can be used on any weapon, tool, or armor with the help of button, which displays an image of the item when it is upgraded if the player has sufficient materials.

Upgrade costs differ based on the slot for the Best item upgrade and the current item level. For instance weapons are more expensive than bracers, or gloves. Each upgrade item costs 15 Flightstones plus a certain number of crests. Some upgrades give discounts on Flightstones. Once an item is upgraded to a certain level and is degraded, it can be sold and returned to the upgrader for a lower amount of the two currencies.

Upgraders for items can be found at many locations including the main island and some outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade discount as well as a chance to get a brand new upgrade recipe. The upgrade discount increases when more items are upgraded. It can be increased if players complete certain achievements or complete quests.

In contrast to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II, there is no upgrader for items available at the beginning of Icewind Dale. Instead the NPCs that are available to help with upgrades require a variety of means, which is both an improvement but also a drawback.

In Season 3, several new features have been added to the upgrade system. When a player has an upgrade to a certain level of an item for a specific armor slot, upgrading additional items to the same level will cost less, even when they are part of another set of gear.

The discount is applicable to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests required to upgrade is reduced too, but it is only available after certain milestones have been reached.

Crests

When upgrading gear in WoW players have a variety of choices. Flightstones are an item that is available to all players for upgrading. Crests are more special, and are used during specific item level upgrades. Crests are a crucial part of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System that was introduced in version 10.1. They are available in four ranks.

First, you must be aware that the crests can only be purchased for gear of a certain rank. Each rank has a different upgrade path. The most basic and straightforward upgrade path costs 15 crests, while the more complex one can require as much as 20 crests depending on the type of gear being upgraded.

Players can earn crests by working through content at the appropriate level. This could mean engaging in outdoor activities or doing dungeons or raids in any difficulty to earn lower-tier gear or Mythicbosses of raids or dungeons with a heroic difficulty to obtain endgame gear. Crests can be exchanged at an Item Level upgrade upgrader NPC, such as Cuzolth in Dornogal or Vaskarn in Valdrakken, for the appropriate upgrade paths and steps.

The new currency system isn't complicated to use, however it does bring some changes to the process of upgrading. For instance, when an item is at the highest upgrade level of any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it won't need Flightstones to be upgraded. This change is intended to allow players to get their equipment to the highest possible ilvl for all their characters instead of relying only on seasonal loot.

Another important change is that crests have one purpose, so it's important to make use of them in a responsible manner. It is recommended to use your Whelpling-rank crests on the highest-quality gear you can find, and save Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next round of upgrades. This is particularly true for items like rings and trinkets that fill multiple slots on the character, which can only be eligible to benefit from the discount for all accounts when all slots are filled with high-quality gear.
