The 10 Scariest Things About Item Upgrading
Path of Exile Item Upgrading
Item upgrading allows players to enhance their weapons and equipment with new affixes that boost the base stats of the item or giving additional benefits. To upgrade items, the player must have the item in their inventory and have access to the kiln.
Items that have weak bases, such as rings can be upgraded to stronger bases. Items with bases that are strong, such as eth Titans have little change in their stats.
Upgrade components
Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armors trinkets, weapons and gathering tools. They give you an attribute benefit, or an additional benefit, while the equipment is being used. They can be purchased from vendors, or found as loot by enemies, or gotten from chests and missions. Some upgrades additionally have special cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a certain level before you can upgrade.
To upgrade an armor, weapon or other item in the game, players will have to select it and click the Upgrade button on the toolbar. This will display on the right-hand side of the screen a preview that shows the expected upgrade statistics and the components or materials required for the upgrade.
There are three kinds: universal upgrades (which include gems) Prefix upgrades and suffix upgrade components. Universal upgrades, which include gems, can be placed in any type of equipment and provide smaller bonuses than upgrade components that are restricted to a specific type. Infusions are only placed in gear that is ascended and legendary equipment are similar to gems, but offer higher bonuses and are not able to be placed in any other equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They will add the suffix to the end of the names of items. For example the addition of a Glyph could transform a Staff wrapping of Minor Vigor a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.
In the instance of upgrades for gathering tools when a player swaps one glyph by another the old glyph will be returned to the inventory. If you replace another upgrade component, it will be destroyed, except for the inscriptions, which can be freely swapped.
Leveling
Path of Exile's upgrade process differs from previous versions in some fundamental ways. Gear is now broken down into tracks, and items can only be upgraded a certain number of times before they're "leveled out." The upgrade cost increases with each level however the materials required aren't as high. This lets players focus their efforts on a few key items and maximize their impact, instead of spreading the upgrade costs across several items.
This will allow the item to receive new upgrade components and a greater chance of success. This bonus is referred to as the Artisan's Energy and it resets to 0 after failure or increases if the upgrade succeeds.
Once a piece of gear is upgraded to its maximum level it is able to be given affixes that increase its features. The number of affixes that are available is determined by the Best item upgrade's type. For instance an uncommon or rare weapon with a normal base will have no more than two affixes available for it and legendary armors can have up to eight affixes for it.
Each upgrade requires a certain number of Flightstones or Crests, based on whether the item is at its current level, and in which slot it is placed in. Weapons usually require more Flightstones than other equipment.
If an item does not attain its maximum level the NPC will offer players the option to transfer it to a different character and re-infuse it with an upgrade set that is different. This process can take between one and two hours and will cost the same amount of materials. However it has a lower chance of success.
Engineers will employ a level to measure the height of the building against an established location, such as an existing benchmark. This method is known as a "level-loop." It involves taking readings with the level, backsighting rod and then turning the level to take the foresighting rod reading. This method ensures that buildings are built to a high level of safety and accuracy.
Rerolling
Rerolling is the process of altering the upgrade components of an item. It is a very important element of the game and can increase the strength, damage or other characteristics. This can be done via the menu for items or by clicking the Reroll button on an upgraded item. Rerolling an item can be costly and should be handled with care.
The game lets players recycle upgraded items, which are used to acquire Reroll tokens. These tokens are then used to upgrade the original item or another item of the same type. Recyclable items have a level gauge that shows how much of the upgrade gauge has been filled. The cost and rarity of upgrading an item determines the amount of level filled.
Prior to this, certain upgrade items were given priority affixes which made them more accessible for players to roll. This meant that you'd receive the stats that mattered most to your build more often than other. This included stats such as the armor's total armour, thorns and diminished duration due to control or the weapon's bonus attack speed and crit strike chance.
This has changed since the last patch. Priority affixes were removed, and all upgrades have the same chance of rolling each statistic. This can be a great or a bad thing, depending on your needs and wants from your equipment.
Each upgraded Best item upgrade can also be equipped with a special bonus that increases the power of the item by a set percentage or flat value. These bonuses are added to regular affixes. The more you upgrade a product, the greater your chance of obtaining a unique bonus.
The game also has a number sets that grant the player a bonus if three or four upgraded items from the set are placed on a unit. This is a great way to give the character more power without spending a ton of money.
Many players choose to reroll their equipment and weapons, particularly in the beginning stages of the game. Rerolling is a way to get a more powerful character faster, allowing players to advance in the game and reach higher tiers.
Sets
Sets are collections that can be set up in different ways. They can be different dimensions, have no elements, or contain one element. They can be used to organize data or sort information. They also aid in studying patterns. Sets can be classified in a variety of ways, including by size and shape.
The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom offers a wide range of upgradeable set items. Some items are worth upgrading while others aren't. Armor sets with high defense or set bonuses are generally worth upgrading. However, weapon upgrades often do not boost the quality of the item's stats when in comparison to their purple counterparts. This makes them less appealing to upgrade when your collection of armor and weapons pieces is already huge.
Some set items are upgraded to take advantage of their unique procs which can be useful in certain builds. Guillaume's Face face and Aldur's Advance boots are examples of this. Both were upgraded from Exceptional Winged Helm and Exceptional Mirrored Boots respectively, boosting their defense by 217 to 321 (Strength requirement and Level requirement increased as well).
Upgrades can also be made to bring certain items to parity with the tiers. The Immortal King Set, for instance, is a huge range of levels ranging from 29 to 75. Upgrades to lower-level items could improve their defense, and improve their performance when it comes to damage.
Clicking the Upgrade button will display the attributes of the item as well as the necessary items needed to upgrade it. This will display the item's features, as well as the items needed to upgrade it. For example the No-mouth Face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials as well as 250 Enchanted Dust, and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Alternatively, players can visit the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to see the upgrade requirements of specific items.
In general, armor and weapons have a higher trade value when they are fully updated. Particularly, for weapons that feature damage glyphs for spells or weapons, upgrading them to gold is recommended since it will provide a significant improvement in their stats. This will also boost the defense value of armor with an updated appearance.
