WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give you boosts in certain statistics. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by +3. Each upgrade also increases the random substatus.

The more modernized gear generally has a greater value for trade, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or very high stat variation (like Eth titan weapons). Upgrades are not as useful for the latter due to the need to roll an exact version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader - describes it - allows players to upgrade gear to a higher level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of armor or weapon. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be applied to Enchantments.

The upgrader can be found in every major city, and can be accessed at any time to upgrade your equipment. It is recommended to visit the upgrader at least once every couple of weeks to keep your equipment up-to-date.

The cost of upgrading will be based on the current level of the item being upgraded, but will always be less expensive than buying new gear from other sources. For example, upgrading a chest piece from Benthic to 385 levels will cost 20 recycle points while buying a similar item from another player will costs 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items which can be used to level up weapons, tools, armor, and other items. They can be purchased by players from item upgrader NPCs in exchange for various currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased, it can be used on any weapon or tool using the help of button, which displays an image of the item upgrader mod when it is upgraded if the player has sufficient materials.

The cost of upgrading is based on the item slot and the current level of the item, with weapons costing more than gloves or bracers, for example. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones and a few crests, with certain upgrades having a discount to lower the cost of Flightstones or crests that are used. Once an item is upgraded to a certain degree it is able to be downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower price.

Item upgraders can be found in a variety of locations including the main island and some outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade coupon and the chance to obtain a new recipe. The discount for upgrading increases as more items are upgraded. It can also be increased by having players complete certain achievements or complete quests.

In contrast to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II, there is no item upgrader available in the beginning of Icewind Dale. The NPCs who are able to facilitate upgrades are only available through a variety means. This is both a positive and an issue.

In Season 3, several new features have been added to the upgrade system. After the player has upgraded to a certain level of item for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same item level, will cost less. This is regardless of whether the items are from an entirely different set of gear.

The discount is applicable to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed to upgrade is reduced too, but it is only available once certain milestones are achieved.

Crests

When it comes to upgrading equipment in WoW, players have a variety of options. They can make use of Flightstones which are a common upgrade currency that is available to all, or crests, which are more specific and consumed during upgrades on specific levels of items. Crests are an integral part of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System, which was introduced in version 10.1. They come in four ranks.

The first thing to remember is that the crests can only be purchased for equipment that is of a particular rank. Each rank comes with distinct upgrade paths. The easiest and most straightforward upgrade is 15 crests. The most complex upgrade requires up to 20 crests, contingent on the type of gear that is being upgraded.

Players can earn crests by finishing tasks at the appropriate level. This could be by doing outdoor activities, or by completing dungeons and raids in any difficulty to earn lower-tier gear or Mythicbosses for raids, or dungeons with heroic difficulty to obtain endgame gear. The crests can then be exchanged with an item upgrader such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn, in Valdrakken to upgrade the item upgrader kit in the proper steps and routes.

The new currency system isn't too difficult to use, but it does bring some changes to the upgrade items process. When a piece has reached the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it will no longer require Flightstones. This change allows players to upgrade their gear to the highest possible level for all their characters rather than relying on seasonal loot.

It's also important to use crests with care, since they only have one use. It's Best item upgrade to use your Whelpling-rank Crests on the highest-quality gear that you can find and keep Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next set of upgrades. This is especially true for items like rings and trinkets that fill multiple slots on the character, which can only be eligible to take advantage of the account-wide discount if all of the slots are filled with top-quality gear.
