Upgrades can increase the value of weapons, armors and rings. Upgrades can also boost bonuses like Crit chance and damage from PvE.

If the weapon's upgrade template ends in %, it will increase 3% of its previous damage each time it is upgraded.

Components

Upgrade components can be added to trinkets, weapons and armor to provide them with a boost in stats or an extra effect. These can be obtained through crafting, purchasing from vendors trading, or looting. Some upgrades can also be accompanied by specific cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be placed in equipment that has a slot to accommodate them. The item must have been at a minimum upgraded to blue level for a component to be inserted. Unlike other mods, upgrade item components can only be used once; they can't be used multiple times or replaced with new upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a particular kind of upgrade component that is used for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment and some of the non-ascended back items. Infusions and enrichments can be retrieved by salvaging gear that is ascended or completing an elite task in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

A prefix or suffix may be added to an upgrade, changing the name of the item it's used on (for example, 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' becomes Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Some upgrades boost an item's Mark Level, or Rarity, which allows players to create stronger versions of that equipment using fewer Upgrade Crystals than are required to reach the same level of upgrade through normal methods.

A boost upgrade can change the attack or defense attributes of the weapon or armor. These upgrades can be crafted from the Portative Forging Station once the player completes the cutscene and defeats the Crazed Mechanic. They can be dropped by enemies when upgrading other gear or buying them in the cash shop for 500 upgrade crystals each.

Each upgrade increases the likelihood that a higher-tier version of the item will be revealed during the next reset. This gives players the opportunity to upgrade their equipment even if they are unsure what will be improved following the reset.

The process of upgrading an item could be expensive, and it is possible that the item will become obsolete, or even break, in the event that the upgrade fails. Upgrade Crystals and assist powders are also destroyed if the upgrade fails. Cash shop items can be used to decrease or eliminate the risk of failure. Some upgrades also give an additional bonus when reinserted.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to upgrade the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets with special functions. Glyphs boost the power of all nodes in a radius around them, including pre-existing affixes on equipment. Glyphs can be upgraded many ways, and we recommend upgrading them to 15 levels as soon as possible.

In the final game you'll find that the Best item upgrader way to enhance your gear is to place Glyphs. These are the only upgrade component which can be upgraded to level 15 and provide an enormous boost to your power on the Paragon Board.

Glyphs, which is the only upgrade component which can be removed without restriction and replaced with no restrictions are the most commonly used. The only exception is legendary equipment that requires a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and then re-install.

Each Glyph has a particular range of values it can improve a stat by. The value is shown when you select the Glyph in your inventory. You can choose to replace it with another Glyph with the same rank or higher rank, which will increase the value of the Glyph.

There are Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of the Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain gathering tools that are unlimited-use and also through Faction Crypt raids. Every Faction Crypt could drop one of these Glyphs. There are also some rare glyphs you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs you'll need them to be placed on your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus that will boost the stats of a particular set of nodes in a radius surrounding the Glyph. Depending on the Glyph, this will either be +40 to one of your primary stats or +25 to two of your secondary stats.

Glyphs boost all nodes connected to them, which is why it is Best item upgrader to put Glyphs in strategic places on the Graph. This will maximize the impact. Druids for instance should position their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They might be able to place them near their most critical damage nodes.

Leveling

The item upgrading system allows players to increase the effectiveness of specific items by putting upgraded components in them. This is commonly known as "upping". Each upgradeable item has a level that determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded items may be leveled to a maximum of ilvl 385. Each level of an item requires various components, and the cost of upgrading increase with each level.

Certain upgrades require a certain ingredient to activate. This ingredient can be obtained by finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be bought from NPCs, or on the upgrade items tab of the crafting table. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed earns a number of Technology Points. These points can be used to the upgrading of an item. Once enough points are earned, you will be able to claim the upgrade and receive its additional bonuses.

When a player upgrades an item, the base item will be replaced by a new item. This means that the same piece of armor will be transformed into the form of a shield or weapon when upgraded. The new item comes with its own set of bonuses. This could be a disadvantage, as the item upgrader can become more expensive even if you do not require it.

The upgrades to items can be rerolled if the player has enough tokens to do so. This causes the item to be traded for a new one, which will have the level 1 base, and a different set of extra bonuses. This can be beneficial, but shouldn't be done often as it can waste resources.

Requirements

Item upgrading allows players to increase the quality of their equippable equipment--armor, weapons, and trinkets that are above ilvl 385 by offering the appropriate currency and items to an NPC who upgrades items. The upgrade of armor set pieces will also increase the base defense of that piece, while upgrading weapon items will increase the base damage as well as the required strength and dexterity to meet the upgraded equipment's requirements.

Each item can be upgraded up to five times, except for hero gear that can have eight upgrades. Each time you upgrade a piece of equipment, it has a chance of failing. The probability of failure increases when you exceed the maximum number. Failures can cause the item to go to its initial state, requiring the player to pay more for materials than they would have to had they stopped upgrading at the highest number of upgrades.

If an item fails to upgrade the amount of experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. The item will also lose any bonuses it gained like the chance to crit damage to attack, other effects (such as a higher healing rate over time or the speed of reloading). The player is able to use their weapon or armor after the failure.

When an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from lowest to highest. This means that, if a weapon gains an increase in crit chance, the increase is applied prior to any increase in attack damage. A new attribute known as Slots has been added to the item's definition and the value is recomputed each time an upgrade is made.

The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item are based on its rarity rating and upgrade slot count. The cost of upgrading non-premium items is the same as the base value of the upgrade. For example, a common equipment item might have 5 upgrades with a cost of 25,600 Technology Points and 4x Quality Improvement Chance--whereas hero quality items will have the lowest cost for each additional upgrade.

Premium items have different upgrade requirements than standard gear--for instance, they might require fewer sowels but more minerals and erons. However, players will have to visit the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they want to upgrade. Each upgrade to equipment requires different amounts of ingredients for upgrading, in addition to the expenses mentioned above.
